Obituary: JOHN FRANK KOLODZIEJ, SR. 1943 - 2011 John Frank Kolodziej, Sr., 67, of Milton, Florida, died , 06, 2011 at a local hospital. John was born 06, 1943 in East Chicago, Indiana to John Charles Kolodziej and Stephanie Burczak Kolodziej. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves in the 1960s. John was the owner and operator of Dairy Queen in Whiting, Indiana before moving to the Pensacola area in 1989. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed shooting, metal detecting and was a member of the Escambia River Muzzleloaders Gun Club. John is survived by his wife, Cookie Kolodziej of Milton, FL; son and daughter-in-law, John F. Kolodziej, Jr. and Olivia D. Kolodziej (nee Parker) of Pace, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Susanne Elizabeth Pruzin and Robert Pruzin of Chesterton, IN; grandchildren, John W. Kolodziej, Robert J. Pruzin, Andrew N. Kolodziej and Ava Elizabeth Pruzin. services will be held at 2:00 p.m., , 11, 2011 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Obituary: Alex Stanley Kolodziej 8, 2015 Alex Stanley Kolodziej passed away at the age of 91 on 8, 2015 in Ft. Myers, FL after a long period of declining health. Alex was born in East Chicago, Indiana and grew up during the Great Depression. Though not an exemplary student, he was a scholar of the school of hard knocks. He served proudly as a Navy radioman in the Pacific theatre during WWII. He subsequently had a successful career as an insurance salesman for Prudential and John Hancock, and as a small business owner. He was well known among his friends as being gregarious and fun-loving. He worked too hard to have much in the way of hobbies, but was active in his church including participation in the "Clown Ministry" bringing cheer to those who needed it. He was extremely proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, and loved to brag about them. He is predeceased by his wife Helen (Napiwocki). He is survived by his wife Florence of Ft. Myers; his children Michael (Regina) of Slingerlands, NY, Eric (Mary) of Carmel, IN, Karen (Kevin) of Saline, MI and Jan (Brian) of Spencerport, NY; his eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Ian, Kyle, Peter, Christopher, Katherine, Daniel, Joshua, Joseph, Rachel, and Sarah; and his great-granddaughter Zoe. are through Hodges-Kiser , Ft. Myers. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Columbkille on 11 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Foundation for the Blind.
