Obituary: Anthony Tony George Bittel, Sr., 86, of 3000 Bittel Rd, Owensboro, died , 4, 2002 at his homethe home in which he was born and lived his entire life. The Owensboro native was a member of the Immaculate Catholic Church; farmer (raising burley and dark tobacco his pride and joy of crops); partner in the Owensboro Tobacco and the Big Independent Warehouse; and in 1975, became one of the five new owners of the Owensboro National Bank. He was a Charter member of the Daviess Lions Club in which he held numerous offices and worked fervently on the Daviess fair and other club projects. In 1999 the Lions honored him by naming their new meeting hall the Anthony Bittel Building. He was Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Association from 1958-70, was an organizer of the Kentuckiana Livestock, served on the Brescia University Board of Director, Owensboro Tobacco Board of Trade, was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Immaculate Mens Club. In 2000, he was awarded the Owensboro-Daviess Democratic Golden Rooster award for his loyalty to the Democratic Party. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anslemine Ann Reisz Bittel; four sons, Don Bittel, Gene Bittel, Hugh Bittel and Anthony Bittel, Jr. all of Owensboro; a daughter, Joyce Yeiser of Owensboro; 16 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. services are 1:30 P.M. , 7, 2002 at Immaculate Catholic Church with entombment in Mater Dolorosa . Friends may call at the Glenn from 1-8 P.M., , 6, 2002 and after 10 A.M. on . Prayers will be said at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Obituary: Anselmine Ann Reisz Bittel, 95, of Owensboro, passed away , 26, 2012, at her home. She was born , 25, 1917, to the late Albert and Ruth Tong Reisz. Ann was a 1936 graduate of Daviess High School. In of 1938 she married Anthony Tony Bittel. Ann was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She loved flower and vegetable gardening and especially her strawberry business. In the 1970s Ann was very involved with the Council of Garden Clubs and served as President of the and Garden Club. Restoring her home and antique shopping were her favorite hobbies for many years. She and her husband Tony were charter members of Immaculate Catholic Church where she served on various church committees throughout the years and will be remembered for the hundreds of rosaries she made for others, particularly her Jobs Tears rosaries. Ann was also preceded in death by her husband Tony in 2002; her sisters, Ruth Hayden, Teresa Keller, Mildred Mischel, Dorothy Wethington and her brother Ed Reisz. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Don and Bonnie Bittel, Gene and Mary Bittel, Hugh and Lisa Bittel, Tony and Paula Bittel, Jr.; one daughter and her husband, Joyce and Bruce Yeiser; 16 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; four sisters and their husbands, Patty and Carl Riney, Mitzi and Bill Speer, Barbara Brown, Judy and Duvall Burk; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. on at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on and after 8:30 a.m. on at Glenn and Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Mater Dolorosa . Obituary: Joseph Bernard Bissmeyer, 79, of Owensboro, passed away on , 1, 2012 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born in Louisville, KY and graduated from Bellarmine University. leaving the seminary because of illness, he met the love of his life, Mollie Mills. married and moved to Owensboro where he was a chemist and lab manager for Texas Gas Transmission Corporation. Since his retirement 20 years ago, he has enjoyed winters in Panama City Beach, Florida as well as traveling to see his children and grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest each day and will always be remembered for his infectious smile. Mr. Bissmeyer is survived by his loving wife, Mollie Mills Bissmeyer, his four sons, Bernie, Tom, David, and Joe, Jr., his daughter, Monica Riney, and their spouses Judy Miracle, Lynn Bice Bissmeyer, Susan Kuhn Bissmeyer, Alan Riney, and Beth Frawley Bissmeyer. Mr. Bissmeyer has 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Bohn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rose Bissmeyer, sisters Mary Helen and Mary Rose, and brothers, Al, Harry, Ray, Ed, Charlie, and Norbert. Services to celebrate Joes life will be held on , 19th, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Glenn and Crematory, 900 Old Hartford Rd., Owensboro, KY 42303. A mass will be offered at 2:00 P.M. at Immaculate Catholic Church, 2516 Christie Place, Owensboro, KY 42301. A reception will follow at the Immaculate Parish hall. Obituary: George C. Bisig II, 75, Centennial Colorado, passed away 24, 2014. He is survived by Life Partner Marianne George; sons Gregory A. Bisig (Sue), Tallahassee, Florida; George Carl Bisig III (Julie), St. Louis, Missouri, four grandchildren: Ellie, Kate, Ben and Georgie; step-children Bart Bruner (Cheryl), Louisville, Kentucky, Lee Bruner (Sue), Louisville, KY; and first cousins Sherry Zachry (Charles) Manassas, Virginia and Doug Poulter (Karen) Louisville and families. Mr. Bisig was born 16, 1939 in Louisville to George C. Bisig and Lucille Edna May Torsch Bisig. He was an Eagle Boy Scout, a graduate of DuPont Manual High School, 1957, and the University of Louisville, 1961. Upon graduation, Mr. Bisig was a high school teacher and coach. a few years, he entered the sales profession, working for General Food then Houghton Mifflin Publishing in Kentucky. In 1972 he was a salesman for Lawyers Co-Operative Publishing (now Thomson Reuters) serving the legal industry in Kentucky and Tennessee. A very successful sales professional, he was promoted to various regional and national sales management roles, and lived in northern Kentucky, Rochester, New York and Louisville. He finished his career as Director of Sales for the Rocky Mountain Region and retired in Denver, Colorado in 2004, after 32 years. Mr. Bisig was an accomplished athlete and sports enthusiast. He played baseball at the high school and collegiate levels. He was very proud that his high school baseball team won the state championsip in 1957. As a sports fan, he attended a multitude of Super Bowls, NCAA Basketball Finals, World Series games, and professional golf tournaments. He was also a horse racing enthusiast and attended many Kentucky Derbies. A Memorial Service will also be held in Louisville, , 10, 2015 at 11 am; Crescent Hill United Methodist Church, 201 S.
