Obituary: Norman F. Norm Taplac, 54, Tallahassee, passed away , May 1, 2011, in Tallahassee. Born in Reedley, California to Pete and Luna Taplac, Norm relocated to Tallahassee in the mid 1980s. He was a long-time employee of Tallahassee Developmental , and much appreciated by both staff and residents for his compassion, humor, expertise, and dedication. He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Judi ONeil; his mother, Luna Taplac of Selma, California; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Gail Taplac, Jon and Chris Taplac, Paul and Amy Taplac; sister, Tricia Johnson and her husband Darryl; a nephew and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandparents. A memorial service will be held 4:30 pm , May 6, 2011, in Culleys MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel. A reception will follow the service in the MeadowWood Room of the funeral home to continue the celebration of Norms life. Obituary: Tapia, Migda, 70, of Spring Hill, FL, beloved daughter of the late Florencio and Ramona Tapia, and half brother E. Rafael Tapia. Brother Edwin Tapia passed away on 26, 2014. Migda is survived by brothers Eugene and Louis Tapia and sister Zulma Tapia Sosa-Vega. Also survived by brother-in-law Daniel Sosa-Vega, sisters-in-law Elba, Vicki and Gail Tapia and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on 29, 1943, Migda was a service brat and traveled with her family in Europe and lived in Italy and Turkey. She also lived in Oklahoma, New York, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, as well as Florida. As a young woman, she worked on tanks at the Ft. Eustis Army Base in Virginia and retired from there after 10 years. moving to Florida, she volunteered in the Mail Room at Bay Pines VA in St. Petersburg and in the Fee Basis Office at James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital inn Tampa. Throughout her life she was active in the Catholic Church and in helping people. She will be missed by her family and friends. |
