Obituary: Helen Elizabeth Howe Aylor, age 86 passed away on , 30, 2015 at Westwood in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born in Santa Cruz, CA. on 25, 1929. Helen is survived by her husband of 67 years V.E.(Bud) Aylor; daughter, Elizabeth (Liz, Betsey) Aylor; daughter-in-law, Joan Aylor; granddaughter, Kristine Aylor (Zach) Short; great-grandson, Dylan Aylor Short, as well as several nieces and nephews; Baleur Treratanaphan (B.T.) (special) family member and her beloved pet Samantha (Kitty). Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Howe, sons; Ted E. and Dennis John (D.J.) Aylor. Helen, the granddaughter of Fred A. Howe, former City Councilman, Mayor and Postmaster of Santa Cruz, California felt the pull of the political arena, ran for Council and was the first woman elected to Strongville, Ohio City Council, 1977. She was responsive to the needs of the people she served and used her talents well and was elected President of Strongville City Council, 1979 and served for 8 years, another first for Strongville. Helen served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Southwest General Hospital, Middleburg Heights, Ohio from 1978 thru 1985. She also found time for church work and was elected District Representative, East Ohio Conference, United Methodist Church serving from 1976 thru 1984. Helen has been a resident of Bluewater Bay and Fort Walton Beach for the last 20 years. She was a member of Crosspoint United Methodist Church in Niceville, Fla. Always interested in the youth of her community Helen felt that the AFS (A Foreign Student Exchange Program) was so beneficial that she arranged for a student from Thailand (B.T.) to live as part of the family for a year and maintained contact thereafter. Helen enjoyed life fully traveling to many countries with her husband Bud. She also enjoyed bowling, tennis and golf, and is known for having scored two hole-in-ones; one in Hawaii and the other at Hilton Head, South Carolina. A celebration of Helens life will be held on , 7th at Meridian at Westwood at 2pm. Obituary: Woodrow W. Ayers Jr., age 79 of Clearwater, FL. passed on , 28, 2011 at Brookside Hospice House in Palm Harbor, Florida. Woodrow was born in Prudence, West Virginia and moved to Clearwater in 1992 from Cleveland, Ohio, He served in the US Army during Korean War Conflict 1950-1954. Woodrow was a driver for the United Parcel Service and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was Methodist. He enjoyed golf and watching the sunset at the Dunedin Pier, also spending time with his grandchildren. Woodrow was preceded in death by his wife, Gisele in 2007and grand-daughter Kelly Ayers. He is survived by his sons, Jean-Paul Ayers ( Elaine), George Ayers(Dottie) and Patrick Ayers ; brothers, Glen Owen Ayers of Norfolk, VA. and Carl Ayers of Pinebluff, WY.; sister, Eileen Suttle of Ravenna, OH ; three grandchildren, George Ayers Jr.; Nicole Marie Ayers and Brett Ayers. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring (2012) in Oakhill, West Virginia.
