Obituary: We are gathered here today in memory of our mother, Rajathi Agnes Daniel, in order to remember and share in the joy of her wonderful life as well as the pain in her passing. In sharing both in the pain and the joy together today, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy. The Last Fight A face that is always on our mind, A smile I have seen a million times, Two eyes that would light up the sky at night, One last battle you could not fight, The day was long, then night then morn. I knew that soon you would be gone, I clasped your hand so warm in mine, Soon we would be out of time, To stay with us you fought so hard, A million pieces went our heart, Now a photo I look at to see your smile, I keep your number on our speed dial, A video I watch to hear your voice, This I do.... I have no choice., But great memories I will always keep with me, Your love in our heart for eternity, To understand why, I can but try, Waiting in heaven from this moment on, 'Till God asks you to bring me home... I never got to say goodbye, -Lorna Ferguson Our beloved mom Rajathi passed away suddenly on Sept 9 in San Jose CA. a long hard fight with cancer, she surrendered herself to rest peacefully and go on to be with our God in heaven. She is in a much better place. She is no longer in any pain or suffering or sadness. She has a perfect body with no blemish where no speck of cancer can cause her harm. She is rejoicing in heaven alongside angels and is watching over us all now. We are so relieved and praise God that she is in a better place, but that does not make it easier on any of us who are still here. Though she has left us, we are her legacy. The actions in her life have molded us and shaped us into who we are. She loved me and my brothers so much. She was not the typical stay at home mom. She signed herself up to chaperone on trips, assist with art projects in school, and volunteered during recess and lunch on the playgrounds. She spent her time trying to be close to us. She taught us how to be creative and how to do our best in all our work and not to settle in anything less. She pays attention to the little things. She was one of the most creative person I have ever known, and it wasn limited to just the amazing paintings she created. She made giant diaper cakes for a lot of our friends baby showers and filled them with so many little goodies. She planned all of our remodeling and interior designs in the different homes we lived in. She made the best coffee, period. She constantly kept the house clean and welcoming to all guest, and taught us to do the same. She worked hard all day and night to keep our family provided for. She woke up early to make us all breakfast and pack our lunches. She was a great example of a woman of God that is described in Proverbs 31. She managed our family on the inside, and supported us all in everything we did. She sacrificed her time and her talents in order to build up our talent and achievements. God had really blessed her, as everything her hands touched, prospered. One specific thing I took from my mother is her love for little children. She was always gentle and so compassionate to all the new born babies and small toddlers in our friend circles. The babies would always be filled with delight as she held them, or played with them, or made them arts and crafts. To many of the younger girls, she would randomly buy makeup kits, or little purses and helped them accessorize. I think that my mothers love for children, rubbed off on me a lot. The two part time jobs Ive had were teaching kids math and teaching kids how to swim. While I grew up and saw how my mom would be so loving and creative with the kids, I incorporated the little things she did into the way I teach; from the way she baby-talked them, to the little jokes she made, and the ways she would pacify them while crying. At the time I worked, or played with these kids, I had no idea why it came naturally to me. Looking back, I can clearly see that my ease with kids came because of the amazing role model I had growing up.These last 5 years, have been extremely tough as she fought cancer. Through all the pain and the multiple procedures, she was able to produce a smile. She was able to stay strong and have hope. In all her suffering, even when she was weak and unable to move, she continued to want the best for us. From reminding us to put sunscreen on to making sure we wore clean clothes. She was always concerned for our well-being and she showed us what it means to be selfless like Christ, and what it means to have strength in Christ.Now we have come to an end of a long journey. With our mom no longer with us, we move forward wanting to become men that she would be proud of. She will constantly be in our hearts, while she is in our Lords hands.
