Obituary: McCRARY, Mary Patricia Pat (Hood) 2, 1928 - 14, 2011 Mary P. Pat McCrary (Hood) passed away at her home of over 54 years in Roseville at the age of 82. Pat was born in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Kenneth and Delphine Hood. She grew up in Richfield, Utah, Coronado, CA, and Sacramento. Pat graduated from Grant Union High School in 1945, at the age of 16, where she was salutatorian of her class. She then went to work for Pacific Telephone as an operator, while attending Sacramento City . Later in life she returned to Sacramento City , where she received her nursing degree. She worked as an RN at Roseville Community Hospital for over 25 years, retiring in 1992 as a Supervisor. Pat was well-known for her sense of humor, caring for others, strong work ethic and love of chocolate. Pat had many life-long friends in Roseville and belonged to the Junior Womens Club, a Birthday Club, GUHS Alumni Assoc. and several bridge clubs. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed playing golf, taking egg decorating classes and traveling. Pat is survived by her brother, Bob Hood, sister, Laura Dye and sister-in-law, Ernestine Hood. In addition, Pat was very proud of her 3 children: Dennis McCrary (Susan), Carol McCrary, and Richard McCrary (Yvonne); 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Buser (Brian), Sara Razzouk (Mike), Kyle and Lauren McCrary; 3 great-grandchildren: Abigail, George and Nathan; a cousin, and several nieces and nephews. Pat loved and appreciated the kind and devoted care given to her over the past 3 years by Perla Aguayo Vasquez and Liliana Vasquez. At her request, no services were held. Pat will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawn in Sacramento. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on , 19th at 4:30 p.m. at Richards home. For directions call 916-783-3202. In lieu of flowers, Pat requested contributions be made to the Chris Garrett Scholarship at Sutter Roseville Medical Foundation, 1 Medical Plaza, Roseville, CA 95661. |
