Obituary: Rose Nahmens McCarley 3, 1960 - 26, 2016 Long time Lake resident and business owner, Rose McCarley passed away 26, 2016 at her home in Lower Lake, after a long battle with Cancer. She was born 3, 1960 in Redwood City to Daniel and Nellie Nahmens. She was raised in Long Valley, Clearlake Oaks. Rose graduated from Lower Lake High School in 1978 as salutatorian of her class. She went on to graduate Cum Laude from California State University Sacramento in 1982 with a B.S. degree in Financing and a minor in Economics. She returned to get her second degree in Accounting in 1984. Rose worked as an accountant at Chevron headquarters during the largest oil merger in history. She returned to Lake to marry her husband Chuck McCarley in 1989. Rose worked as an accountant at Robertson & Associates until she she joined her husband to run Lake Gas in 1991. selling Lake Gas, Rose pursued her lifelong dream of owning a western retail store and built CJS Ranch Supply where she has worked ever since. Rose loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and gardening, but most of all she loved her horses and barrel racing. Rose continued to live her life, doing what she loved, despite her illness. She spent countless days driving her kids to rodeos and hours helping them in the practice pen. Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Nellie Nahmens, brother Daniel Nahmens, and husband Chuck McCarley. Rose is survived by her children, Christopher, Joseph and Samantha. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Roses life on , 5th at 2 pm at the Clear Lake Rivera Club, 10200 Fairway Drive, Kelseyville, CA. under the care of Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel. Obituary: Eugene Otho McCarley Born 19th 1925 in Fresno California.Passed May 12th 2011, in Anderson, California. Survived by Dorothy McCarley, beloved companion and wife. Sandra Cook, Tim McCarley, Jay McCarley and Scott McCarley. A sons perspective: Being the Eldest son, I was volunteered to write a short condensed journey of a great man, who has now slipped past those surly bounds of earth. Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, he has topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind he has trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, - Put out his hand, and touched the face of God. Eugene was born in Fresno, Ca. He was a survivor of the great depression and a WW11 Veteran, wherein served in the Navy. Dad left home at the young age of 15. He had a rough childhood ,which shaped his character, later to ensure that his family would never endure what he endured. He joined the Navy at 17, shortly after his marriage to my mother. lost their first child,Danny due to complications. the war Dad went to Bible school and became an ordained minister with the Assembly of God church. This changed him again as he was revolted at the prosperity gospel that was being taught even then. You see the religious and the political system is broke and beyond repair. These events shaped a young boy into a man and placed him on a lifelong journey for truth and a relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ. As a young child I will always remember him with his bible on his lap. Early morning before he started his day as a house painter, after a long day at work, before bed he was reading the Book. It was during these formative years of his life, Dad had a love for the Jewish people and Israel. He taught us that our salvation was tied up with them. Fast forward in time this eventually took him to Israel to see for himself this land of intrigue and conflict. It was a constant subject in our house. Dad was a voracious reader and became an expert on the Holocaust. Even at a young age, I remember after his first visit to Israel Dad changed emotionally and spiritually. It affected him so dramatically that it was the beginning of a Family journey for and with the Jewish people. On Dads first trip to Israel of 1969 he went with no agenda, he just went to see. One evening, erev Shabbat, he was standing on a corner in Tel Aviv. A couple passed him. Dad being Dad ,stopped them and asked for directions. stood and talked for several minutes. Up on a balcony another young man called down and said Abba, Emma ask him up. Dad had just started a relationship that would last throughout his life. Yona and Shoshanna Slutzky. It was Azi their son who had called down that afternoon and invited Dad up. spoke into the wee hours of the morning about God, the bible and Israel. Many trips followed over the years to Israel. It was in the Spring of 1979 Dad packed up Mom, Jay and Scott and came to Israel for almost a year. We all stayed together, living in Jerusalem. I had been living there since 1973. I was married in Jerusalem and my son Nathan was born in Israel. During these trips Dad was always able seek out or stumble across people who influenced, and in retrospect helped molded a life journey for him. For some reason It was mainly Israels military men who were most open to Dads views on Israel and their role with Gods plan for all of mankind. I was fortunate as I was witness to these events. I went to Israel in 1973 and lived there until 1980. I recall sitting at Sholomo Baums house in Jerusalem. Sholomo was called the Lion of Israel. He was a Tank commander and military genius who saved Israel during the Yom Kippur war with a counter offensive against Egypt. We would sit at Sholomos place, drink coffee and talk Bible and Prophecy. During these visits, a phone call would be made, then shortly after a knock at the front door and different men in uniform would come in. More coffee was served and Sholmo would direct us to a subject and ask Dad for his input which would always be based from scripture. These men would excuse themselves and leave. Sholomo would then say that man was the director of so and so. You can talk to anyone higher. This happened time after time over many years and many visits. During the years from 1969 until today, we traveled to the 4 corners of this earth in pursuit of Dads compassion for Israel. Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ossetia, Georgia, Poland, Ukraine, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, South Africa to name a a few. Why One may ask? We went to see for ourselves the past persecution of the Jew, their ability to survive and maintain their spiritual compass that guided a homeless people home after 2000 years of wandering. It was during the course of these many years Dad had taught in our home. As word spread about a man who taught a no nonsense gospel these studies grew and we had 50 to 80 people at a time in our home. It was from these friends and families that money was raised over the years to rescue Jews from the Former USSR and smuggle them to Israel. On one of Mom and Dads trips to Poland in 1987, he meet two young Polish men. One a Jew and One a Gentile. Both believers in the true God of Israel and who had a passion for Israel.
