Obituary: On 7th, 1937, the Lord allowed a gem to slip from heaven and embrace the world as Phyllis Mildred Manno. Phyllis naturally and effortlessly, could reveal an unforgettable presence everywhere she went. Anyone deserving of her love should be honored. Average; would describe her the least. Kind; may show you a glimpse. Loving; could give you a hint. Strong; would tickle your insight. And renowned could say the least. Phyllis was the sister of Arvil Daniels (Ellicott, MD), James Daniels (Port Republic, NJ), John Dill (Cherry Hill, NJ), Florence Boskey (Glendora, NJ), and Betty Ann Caldwell (Virginia Beach, VA). Cousin of James Valdez (Redding, CA), and Howard Valdez (Phelan, CA). Niece of Ethel Valdez (Redding, CA). Phyllis was born and lived in New Jersey until coming to CA in 1955. Shortly after she met the love of her life, Sal Manno, and married in 1956. Happily married, Sal and Phyllis opened Sals Inn (One in Glendora, CA and the other in Azusa, CA). raised three amazing children; Charlie Manno, Cora Palomino (wed to Ralph), Teresa Boucher (wed to Tom); She later became the loving Grandmother to Sal, James and Ryan Palomino, and Ted and Tiffany Boucher (All of Rancho Cucamonga). her husband Sal passed in 1979, Phyllis lived 31 more years where she became an even more prominent business woman. relocating to 29 Palms, Phyllis took over The Virginian near her home. Phyllis traveled the world and loved every minute. May her final journey be even more enlightening and pleasant than her travels on Earth. Her final departure came on 6th, 2010 surrounded by all of her loved ones. She will be missed more than words can describe, but she left us with one content thought when she happily said to us, "Im going to be married again." One day we all will be together again. A celebration of Phyllis life will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave., Ontario, 91762, on Dec. 12th, @ 1:00 p.m. |
