Obituary: Kathryn V. Martin, 92, of Inverness, FL, passed away on Fri., Aug. 5, 2016 at her home. She was born 11, 1924 to Edgar and Ruby (Blum) Vanderhider in Taylor, TX. She attended St. Marys School and later William Adams High School in Alice, TX. Kathryn moved to Raymondville, TX and later attended A & I in Kingsville, TX. She worked for E I Dupont in Deepwater, NJ, where she met and later married the late William John Martin. In 1973, she was employed by the Board of Social Services in Penns Grove, NJ and retired in 1989, and then moved with her husband to Inverness, FL in 1990. Kathryn was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness and also was a member of the Highlands Civic Association. Kathryn loved to play bingo, play cards, and also loved to dance. She enjoyed her volunteer work with both the Citrus Board of Elections and the Pink Ladies of Citrus Memorial Hospital. She moved to Inverness Club in Feb. 2015 and enjoyed the company of many caring neighbors and loving friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, William John Martin, on Sept. 12, 1997 and a sister, Doris Allen. Mrs. Martin is survived by her four children: Cynthia Anders (husband Billy), Inverness, FL; Michele Jefford (husband David), Crystal River, FL; Suzanne Martin, Honolulu, HI and William Jay Martin (wife Sue), Lenexa, KS; grandchildren Mary, Robyn, David, Lauren, Emily, Thomas and Cali and great grandchildren Tatum and Marjorie. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thurs., Aug. 11, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. from Wilder , Homosassa, FL. Interment will be private. www.wilderfuneral.com |

Obituary: Karen Michelle Martin, 50, passed away peacefully at home on , May 25th. She earned her bachelor's degree in Special Education and she was an employee of Westgate Resorts for 28 years. She is survived by her Mom (Juanita "Nita" Martin) and her Dad (Howard "Ted" Martin); her brother, Ted Martin, his wife, Ruthanne and their children, Zachary and Jessica; her sister, Sherry Martin Del Rosso, her husband, Dave, their children, Angelina and Dominic; and, her Aunt Ruth "Ave" Aveline. She was a dear friend to all. She was a generous humanitarian who was sympathetic, philanthropic, accomodating, and especially kind-hearted. Services will be held at the Woodlawn Memorial Park and : 400 Woodlawn Cemetary Road, Gotha, FL 34734. Viewing will be held May 31st from 1:30-2:30pm, with the funeral service scheduled at 2:30pm. Obituary: Martin, Karen L. , 48, ended her 3 1/2 year battle with breast cancer on , May 28, 2011. Born to Bill and Ruth (Poole) Rittenhouse on 19th, 1962 in Elwood, IN. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1980 and moved to Orlando in 1986. Karen kept an amazing outlook on life through her struggles with cancer. She was a great inspiration to those around her. Her motto was always to "keep it as normal as possible", and as abnormal as her condition was, Karen kept her head held high and continued to be the loving Mother and Wife she had always been. She was employed as a clerk of the courts in the civil division of the Orange Clerk of Courts for 9-1/2 years. She was admired and loved by those who surrounded her and will forever be missed and in their hearts. Karen is survived by her parents; Bill and Ruth Rittenhouse, her brother; Bill Rittenhouse, her husband; David Martin, her two sons; Christopher Martin (Cynthia) and Samuel Martin, her grandson; Ayden Joseph Martin, and a host of extended family members that reside in Indiana. A memorial service will be held in Karens honor at Wodlawn Memorial Park and , 400 Woodlawn Road Gotha, FL 34734 on 4th, 2011 at 12:30 PM. A gathering for family and friends will be held immediately following the service, where lunch and refreshments will be provided.
