Obituary: With great sadness we announce the passing of John A. Markesteyn, Sr. of Orlando, Florida, on May 6, 2011; wonderful father, beloved brother, loving Grandfather and Great-grandfather. He was 18 days away from celebrating his 82nd birthday & passed away peacefully at home, with his family at his side. John is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Markesteyn Isley; & son-in-law, Randy J Isley of Orlando. He is also survived by seven Grandchildren: Jason Markesteyn, Lanae M Cherniske (husband, Mike), Clayton & Charla Markesteyn, Jay Isley, Kristi I Northcott (husband, Brian), and Phillip Isley, & five Great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Markesteyn, Brian, Carson, Parker and Makenna Joan Northcott, and Benjamin Cherniske, one sister, Gladys Scherer; and two brothers, Fred Markesteyn, of Ocala, FL; and William Markesteyn of Savannah, GA. John was born in Ogden, Utah but most of his childhood lived in Savannah, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Markesteyn & Johanna H. Meuwissen; also his loving wife, Joan and son, Johnny. He was one of eight siblings; 6 boys and 2 girls! He moved to Orlando, Florida in 1960, with his wife and 2 children. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served others unconditionally within the Church and Community. He was loved and respected by all those who knew him. John touched many lives and was a true friend in every respect. He was a man of great integrity and everyone who knew him considered him their friend. He will be missed so very much. He was a business owner of his own Jewelry Store in the Orlando area since 1960. He loved his work and considered it an honor to custom design jewelry for his customers. His accomplishments are 100 fold and he never met a challenge he could not conquer. Above all, he loved his family. He worked side-by-side with his faithful wife of over 60 years in their family Jewelry Business, Markesteyn Jewelers, until her passing last . He has grieved her passing this last year and has gone to be with her. There are no good-byes My Dear Sweet Dad.. I Love You With All My Heart! We Will Meet Again!
