Obituary: KUCERA, William Miles, 79, of Seminole, FL passed away on Wed, 19, 2014 in Largo Medical . Bill was born on 8, 1935 in Chicago, IL. He grew up in Berwyn, raised by his late parents William & Lillian (Krenger) Kucera. He moved to Seminole, FL in 1986 after retiring from the Berwyn Police Department after 26 years of service. He served in the US Army during the Cold War from 1954-1956. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois Police Association, Boga Ciega Power Squadron and attended Blessed Sacrament Church in Seminole, FL. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia J Kucera of Seminole, FL, a son William P (Linda) Kucera of Oak Park, IL, two daughters, Bonnie (Michael) Considine of Sandwich, IL and Brenda (Porter) Smith of Plainfield, IL; and, step daughter Mary Helen Stimler of Indiana. Bill's siblings include a sister Lori (Robert) Machacek of Lombard, IL and a brother, the late Douglas Kucera, Sr. of Plymouth Indiana. He was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren: William, Nathaniel, and Margaret Kucera; Shaun, Benjamin, Andrew, Michael, Bethany, and Mariah Considine; and, Christopher, Jonathan, Kenneth, Joshua, and Joseph Smith. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be offered to the American Heart Association. Obituary: Dr. Alfred Kucaba, 93, of Miami, passed away peacefully on , 13, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 21, 1923, he was the youngest of five children born to Jan and Sophia Kucaba, who emigrated from Poland at the turn of the 20th century. Upon graduating from high school, with World War II in full swing, he promptly enlisted in the Army Air Force and completed his navigator training at the University of Miami. It was during this time in Miami when he fell in love with Miami and vowed to return one day. completing 35 missions as a navigator aboard B-17 bombers in the European Theater in WW II, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and numerous victory medals. In 1946, he was honorably discharged from the Army Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant. Back in Philadelphia, safe and sound after the war, he thereafter graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry in 1951 from the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, of Dentistry, in 1955. With visions of the Miami ensconced in his mind, he didn’t last long in Philadelphia after graduating from dental school. A couple of years later, he moved to Miami and never looked back. For almost 50 years, Dr. Kucaba was a practicing dentist in Miami until he retired in 2006. Dr. Kucaba is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Rojas Kucaba, and their daughter, Janine Nicole Kucaba. He is also survived by his two daughters from a prior marriage, Cynthia Kucaba and Deborah Ewalt (Duane) and three grandchildren, Sophia L. Ewalt, Sara Ewalt and Samuel Ewalt. Dr. Kucaba is also survived by Mary’s large extended family in Colombia, Mary’s niece, Amanda Bruell (Pierre) of Port Liberte, NJ and brother-in-law, Dr. Wadid Mauad of Mt. Vernon, NY. Dr. Kucaba was a pure, kind soul, incapable of telling a lie. In his dental practice and in his personal life, Dr. Kucaba was charitably inclined and many times, didn’t expect payment for his dental services and loved to help people without expecting anything in return. Dr. Kucaba loved to travel and was the ultimate outdoorsman. Specifically, he loved to go camping in North Carolina and all of the national parks, especially Yellowstone. During their marriage, Dr. Kucaba and Mary spent a significant amount of time traveling around Europe and the United States. In life, Dr. Kucaba was the best example of what a good human being, husband, father, and grandfather was supposed to look like. His absence will be felt by all who loved him.
