Obituary: Donald was born in Raisin City, California, to Andrew and Laura Dostinich, on 24, 1925, the fourth child in a family of nine. He graduated from Caruthers High School in 1943, and began a long and active life a farmer on the home ranch. Donald married Gloria Dufur in 1959, and they celebrated 50 years together in 2009. Donald always had a flourishing family garden and there was never a stray leaf left in their yard. He and Gloria became very accomplished at curing olives and kept the extended family well supplied. Donald was the unofficial chairman of the bar at the Old Fresno Basque Hotel. Nearly every , he and Gloria would take their regular seats and would welcome and visit with their many friends. Donald and Gloria enjoyed occasional outings to the local Indian casinos, and often trips to the casinos in Reno, NV. Donald was a long time member of the Serbian Mens Club. He attended many of their great dinners and sponsored some over the years. He is survived by his wife Gloria; and four sisters, Eleanor, Barbara, Betty and Millie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on , 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S. Cornelia Ave., Fresno. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any remembrances be made to the donors favorite charity. |
