Obituary: Patricia "Pat" Donswyk, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Ventura on 1, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born in Long Beach on 11, 1923, to Charles and Nellie Cline. One of six sisters, Pat was, sadly, the last of the "Cline girls." Her life was dedicated to the happiness and wellbeing of her family. Our little yellow house was filled with love, flowers, laughter, and her special chocolate chip "Granny" cookies. Pat donated many hours to her children's pursuits, serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, Den Mother, and PTA president of Montalvo School. She volunteered her help to many organizations including the Douglas Penfield School, Hospice, and 40,000 hours as a Pink Lady Auxiliary member at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura. Later in life she rediscovered her love of bowling and enjoyed hours with her many new friends at Buena Lanes in Ventura where she was known to all as the "Cookie Lady." Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George; daughter, Janet MacCuish; granddaughter, Catherine MacCuish; and sisters: Kay, Chody, Nevie, Genie, and Charlene. She is survived by her son, Jim Donswyk and his wife Cheryl; daughter, Joanne Blanford and her husband Thomas; and son-in-law, Neil MacCuish. She adored her grandchildren: Michelle (MacCuish) Holman, Michael MacCuish, Dean Donswyk and Maria, Derek Donswyk, Adam Blanford and wife Julie, and Alysia (Blanford) Gadde and her husband Sharat. Pat treasured every moment with her great grandchildren: Jacob, Jessica, Emily, Philip, Cody, Claire, Avni, and baby Owen. The family would like to offer special thanks to Mom's close friend, Bruce Staples for his kindness and support. Thanks also, to her physician, Dr. Scott Tushla, caregiver, Kathryn Jacobs, and the staff of Oakhurst Hospice for the gentle care Pat received during her final days. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on , 10, 2014, at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to your favorite charity.
