Obituary: IVE MOVED ON! 89 years here on Earth, Ive moved on! Here in heaven I find no illness, no death, no taxes and no war. Its all I expected heaven to be. I am now with family members and friends I have not seen for many years, and most importantly, I am here with my Lord and Savior who made all this possible. I was born in St. Louis in 1926 and my parents were Salvation Army officers for most of my early years. Thats why we moved almost every year and I attended 12 schools by the time I finished high school. Over those years Esther, Richard and David came along to join the family, plus Bruce, who joined us later. In 1945 I almost entered heaven when I was severely wounded in combat in WW II, but it wasn my time yet and I recovered after a long time in Army hospitals. In 1951, I married my college sweetheart, Jan, an incredible girl, and along came Laurie, David and Dan, in due time. In 1961 we moved to California from New Jersey and in 1972 we moved to the Conejo Valley. 47 years of marriage Jan died after struggling for 9 years with an illness. In 1999 God gave me a Second Spring in the winter of my life when Irene came into it, bringing with her Stephanie and Dana. She brought me great joy and helped conclude my years here in a wondrous crescendo. Those years were full of love and care from her. My 40+ years in the executive search profession were rewarding ones and it was gratifying to receive honors from my college, my profession and my community. My life was full and satisfying. I twice married wonderfully well, had a fine family, owned my own firm, traveled extensively, taught at a university level, authored a well regarded book and was able to serve on numerous non-profit and church boards. All that, plus a long life, are more than a man should expect. On 19th, 1:00 pm, at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 2304 Antonio Ave, Camarillo, my family and some friends will be gathering to have a MOVING ON CELEBRATION. Come and join us if you can. Please, no tears or even frowns. If you had some flowers in mind, why not make a contribution instead to the Dingman Scholarship at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA., where I served on their Board, or Hospice of the Conejo, who minister to the terminally ill. I served with them for ten years. This will be a happy time as we celebrate my moving on to a better and unending stage of life, where I hope to see you. |
