Obituary: Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:25 David L. Dillon was born on 3, 1953, and went home to be with the Lord on 20, 2010. He was born to Jack and Diane Dillon in Denver, Colorado, and they moved to California, settling in the west San Fernando Valley. Jack and Diane went on to have two more sons Doug and John, as well as a daughter Cathy. David attended Justice Street Elementary School and Columbus Junior High. He continued his education at Canoga Park High School and graduated in 1971. Six months after his high school graduation, he met his future bride Christine A. Ponticelli whom he married in of 1976. had four children-Michelle, James, Michael, and Carla-whom Dave was committed to offering every advantage possible, including organized sports, private education, and a foundation of faith and values. David enjoyed life and all that it had to offer. During his high-school years, he performed many antics, such as putting the school up for sale, building a bench pyramid that could only be deconstructed with a crane, and wreaking havoc with a dummy named George. While he had his mischievous side, he was also a responsible student, gifted athlete, and became captain of the football team. His intelligence, sense of responsibility, and leadership skills brought him the success he experienced in his career as a software developer, working for such companies as Blue Cross, Flying Tigers, Gibraltar Savings, Disney, and Farmers Insurance. As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching his favorite teams, coaching high school football and his kids little league, as well as cycling, fishing, and playing softball. David was also an entertaining story-teller; he loved to reminisce about his youthful shenanigans, and recount simpler times growing up in the San Fernando Valley amongst orange groves and horse corals. However, in his heart of hearts, he was a devoted family man and was always happiest spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren playing cards and board games, having afternoon barbecues, and bocce tournaments. In his latter years, he grew to know the love of Christ and exemplified his faith in his daily living. In the spring of 2007, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and for three years, he battled courageously. He continued to fight the good fight of faith until the very end when he passed away due to complications from his treatment. He is survived by his wife Christine; daughter Michelle and her husband Matthew; son James, son Michael and his wife Jasmina, daughter Carla; and grandchildren Madeline and Emily. Davids self-sacrificing love and devotion are a great inspiration to his family, and he will be immensely missed until their glorious reunion in heaven. |

Obituary: Charlotte Mae Dillon went to be with Jesus , 2 surrounded by all of her children who spoke words of love to her, prayed with her and sang hymns as she passed into Jesus’ arms. She was just a little shy of her 84th birthday, but as the Lord would have it, she celebrated her birthday several weeks ago with a wonderful party. As her birthday of 10 nears, we’ve come to realize she’ll have her real party in heaven with loved ones she has not seen for a while. She is, right now having a grand reunion with Bob, her husband of almost 65 years. We love you, Mom, and we’re happy for you. We miss you, but we’ll be with you soon. Well, what Mom mostly did with her life is raise us kids. Bob and Charlotte came to the Central Coast in 1956 with Bobby, Sandy, Peggy and Diana in tow, leaving industrial Toledo, Ohio to make their own way in life. lived in Whitley Gardens, Paso Robles, Atascadero and settled in Santa Margarita in 1962. Donna was born to them when they lived near Atascadero Lake. Quality of life was very good here in those early days, and we kids will ever be grateful to Mom and Dad for their pioneer spirit. left everything to give us a good life. Mom had a very green thumb, and everything she planted prospered. There was a time when she had so many potted plants hanging on her front porch that it was hard to get in the door to see her. She loved her plants, but mostly talked about her family and about Jesus, so anyone who got near her was going to get an earful either about how well a grandchild was doing or about how much Jesus loved her. She encouraged us kids to do well in school and that has helped us all. Obituary: Betty Jo Dillon, age 74, passed away at home surrounded by her family on 20, 2017. She was born on 28, 1943 in Judsonia, AR to Denver and Elsie Gillam. She retired from the Armona Union Elementary School District as an Instructional Aide after 25 years of service. Betty was a current member of the Tulare Missionary Baptist Church and former long-time member of Armona Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing with close friends in a trio for many years as well as the church choir. Betty was married to her husband, Roland Dillon, for over 57 years.
