Obituary: Grace Katherine (Hammers) Davis passed away peacefully on 18th, in Red Bluff at the age of 95. Born in Depew Oklahoma, she moved to Missouri when she married her husband Lloyd Efton Davis where they lived until moving to California in 1939. settled in the bay area where she worked various jobs and they owned a Texaco Gas Station until her husband's death. In 1976, Grace moved to Red Bluff where she hand made hundreds and hundreds of quilts and crocheted blankets which were sold at craft fairs and boutique stores. She also did daycare for a period of time. Grace is preceded in death by her husband and one true love, Lloyd Efton Davis, her son Lloyd William Davis, five brothers, Tommy Hammers, Joe Hammers, George Hammers, Dan Hammers and Lawrence Hammers. She is survived by her daughter Julia Villa (Bob), sister, Dolly Newman, eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Grace remained independent and active her entire life, still living on her own up until her death. She loved to sew, crochet, bake and will be fondly remembered for her quilts and love for her family. She will missed. A memorial service will be held on , 26, 2015, at 1:00 pm at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers. Graveside immediately following, Red Bluff . |

Obituary: Mr. Gordon M. Davis was a man who was full of life, outgoing and enjoying the things that gave him pleasure. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. He was tough-minded with the kind of stick to it attitude that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a man who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything he undertook. Realistic about life, he was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility. He was the son of Roy "Doc" and Laura Davis. Gordon grew up in Beaumont, California. Gordon was raised with eleven siblings. He had eight brothers, Dick, Darryl, Jimmy, Tommy, Joe, Kenneth, Howard and Marvin and three sisters, Gloria, Mitsy and Susie. Gordon was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years. As a young boy, Gordon had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Gordon was an active child who took part in basketball and football. He was a DeMolay. However, to Gordon, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends. A typical teenager, Gordon had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1953. He was an indifferent student whose favorite class was PE. Gordon enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Gordon was able to manage the balancing act. He also pursued graduate school, earning his Masters of Counseling. He loved gymnastics and mastering the English language and as a sociology major he enjoyed watching groups interact. Always considered a good friend to those he knew, Gordon enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. Later in life, he became good friends with Larry Morton. On 25, 1961 Gordon exchanged wedding vows with Margaret Carol Holden at First Baptist Church of San Bernardino, California. Empathic and loyal, Gordon was committed to making his new family happy. Gordon worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Gordon was blessed with three children, two sons, Michael and Kirk and one daughter, Lea. Another blessing for Gordon was the gift of six grandchildren, Zane, Garrett, Tyler, Dylan, William and Margie. Fortunately, Gordon enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Gordon worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was High School Counselor. He was employed for 30 years by the Banning Unified School District. Gordon always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done. Gordon was an Navy veteran. He was stationed in Newfoundland and was a navigator on Constellations hunting Soviet subs in the Atlantic. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home. Gordon enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were ceramics, painting and sculpting. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others. Gordon found pleasure in sports. In high school, Gordon played basketball and football. Recreational sports included golf. Gordon was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were basketball. Gordon enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included going across the country in their motor home. Gordon was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Turkey, a cat and Albert, a cat. His family was rounded out by his dog, Pogo. When Gordons retirement finally arrived in 2003, he was well prepared. In retirement, he found new pleasure in riding his Harley. Even in retirement, Gordon continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Gordon was active in his new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him. Gordon passed away on 9, 2010 at Redlands Community Hospital in Redlands, California. Gordon never gave up his fight against cancer. He is survived by children, Michael, Kirk and Lea; grandchildren, Zane, Garrett, Tyler, Dylan, William and Margie; his brothers, Jimmy, Joe, Dick, Darryl, and Tommy Davis, and sisters, Mitsy Allen, Gloria Mackey and Susie Ferguson. Services were held at 11:00 AM on , 20, 2010 at Weaver Mortuary Chapel 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223. Gordon was laid to rest in Stewart Sunnyslope in Beaumont, California. Simply stated, Gordon was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Gordon leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Mr. Gordon M. Obituary: GLORIA ANITA DAVIS passed away on 8, 2010. She was 82 years old. Gloria was born in Birmingham, Alabama, the first daughter of George Washington Barnes and Ruth Alberta Barnes. Gloria grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she married John H. Davis, Sr., her husband of 43 years and lifelong companion. Gloria moved with John to California in 1980, and was a longtime resident of Lemon Grove. raising 12 children, Gloria began a second career in teaching. In 2002, Gloria retired from the Lemon Grove School District after spending 20 years as a Teachers Aide for special needs children. Gloria devoted her entire life to raising, teaching and loving her children, her students and all of Gods other children. In 2006, Gloria relocated to her new home in Sierra Vista, Arizona. In 2008, she celebrated her 80th birthday amidst loving friends and family. In , 2010, Gloria returned to California to spend her remaining days. Gloria will be remembered for her unconditional love, adventurous spirit, pure generosity, effervescent sense of humor and strong faith in God. Gloria was strong in her faith and active in her church. Gloria was a long standing member of Saint Phillips Episcopal Church in Lemon Grove, where she served on the Alter Guild. moving to Arizona in 2006, Gloria attended Keno Gospel Service in Fort Huachuca, where she immediately assumed her role as Mother Davis. Gloria is survived by her 12 children, Debra Ellen Brown and her husband Michael, Amie Joan Davis Rudolph and her husband Jerry, Linda Allyson Brown and her husband Craig, Kathryn Susan Frazier, John Henry Davis, Jr. and his wife Sia, Mitchell Barnes Davis and his wife Patricia, Gwynne Anne James and her husband Tyrone, Todd Willie Davis, Sr., Joel Albert Davis, Sr. and his wife Betsy, Anita Delores Agunos, Drew Whitney Davis and his wife Carmen, and Carter Allen Davis and his wife Kasia. Gloria is also survived by her siblings, Ernestine Clarice Bryant and her husband Napoleon, Millie Jo Taylor, and Ethel Delores Kohout and her husband John. Gloria is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews, and a countless number of friends that loved her dearly.
