Obituary: Evelyn Cluff Davis passed away peacefully in the arms of her family , 21, 2010 after a prolonged illness. She was born 14, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melvin and Edyth Cluff.and was preceded in death by them and her two sisters, Gayle and Zena Beth. Evelyn married Glen Davis in 1949, and together they moved to Chicago to finish his education at Northwestern Dental School. During this time, they had their first-born, their daughter Sandy. The new family moved to San Bernardino in Southern California where one boy a year was added to the family - Randall Davis, Dr. Terry Davis, and Donald Davis. Evelyn cared for the family as Glen served at Norton Air Force as a military dentist and ultimately in private practice in San Bernardino for 40 years. Evelyn was a devoted wife and homemaker, providing a loving home, nurturing guidance, support to her husband and family and unselfish contribution to everyone in her life. She was a faithful servant of God her entire life and a gracious example of his loving goodness. She will also be remembered as a very accomplished pianist, serving in that capacity in her church as well as being the Junior School Choir Director. She also volunteered her time with the Assistance League of San Bernardino before she and Glen retired to their new home in Vista, CA. Her passionate love of music and the many pets that filled her life will be among the many memories that her family will cherish. She is survived by Glen, their four children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandsons. A Memorial Service is scheduled , 27, 2010, 12:30p, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1585 Melrose Drive, Vista, CA. All are Welcome. Her final resting place will be Eternal Hills , Oceanside CA. Obituary: Eula was born in West Virginia to Lena and Elmer Mason. She came to California in 1933 and married Jay Q. Davis on 23, 1936. In 1940 she gave birth to Edwin Jay. In 1942, Richard Ray was born. Then in 1945 Sandra Sue arrived. All were born in the month of . Throughout her life Mom was very Civic Minded. She was President of the P.T.A. at Pacific Ave Achoo in Huntington Park, where she put on a luncheon for over 100 the day before she delivered Edwin. For many years Mom volunteered for, amongst others, The American Cancer Society, The U.S. Citizens Service Corps, YMCA membership drives and during the WWII she raised money for the Victory Chest Campaign. Mom also found time to be a Precinct Supervisor, Ballot Courier & Hosted Polling at our home during special elections. She independently helped many families in need and spent countless years with The Red Cross. She was very active in many social organizations, such as Eastern Star, White Shrine, Job's Daughters, and Lions Club. Mom wore many hats, including bookkeeper at times while helping Dad with his business. Mom and Dad loved to dance and even won contests. Mom would take us kids fishing, on our road trips back east, and to Catalina. She drove us to Dr. visits, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and dance lessons. We shared many family vacations driving to Oklahoma and West Virginia. Mom developed Parkinson's and Alzheimer's about 20 years ago. Dad cared for Mom in their Huntington Park home they shared for 53 years. On 16, 1999 she found her new home in the Covenant Unit at Artesia Christian , where she resided until she went home to be with the Lord. Mom was loved by all at the home. The care and love she received there was outstanding. Our deepest gratitude to the staff. Mom will be missed, but she has gone home to dance with her beloved husband, Jay, who passed 15, 2001.
