Obituary: On the evening of 7, 2016, Sara finally succumbed to the pulmonary difficulties that had been plaguing her for the past ten months. She had been residing at a skilled nursing facility in Los Angeles after having been treated at numerous facilities since last Christmas. Sara was born 9, 1967, in Palo Alto, CA. During her formative years she lived at several locations in California and Hawaii before settling here in Ventura in 1978. Sara thoroughly enjoyed her years here, and was active on the Ventura High School swim team. She graduated in 1984 and continued her education at the University of California San Diego until her health forced Sara to leave in 1986. While at UCSD, she worked in the library. For a brief period of time Sara attended school at the University of California Berkley, where she was a private care giver for a local familys daughter. school, Sara was unable to work to any great extent as she fought hard to maintain her health. She enjoyed traveling to the family lakeside cottage in Massachusetts, where she became an ardent Boston Red Sox fan and made many friends. Through all her difficulties Sara managed to fondly remember the high points of her life, and not dwell on the more difficult aspects. Sara is survived by her parents, William and Joanne Danforth of Ventura; uncles and aunts, Douglas and Arlene Mayer of Feeding Hills, MA, Phil and Sandy Danforth of Fort Myers, FL, John and Carol Danforth of Winston-Salem, NC; and her cousins, Carolyn Hope, Bonnie Mayer, Jodi Danforth, Amy Shank, Ginnie Freeman, and Carrie Schymanski. A memorial service will be held in Saras honor on , 17, 2016, 2:00 P.M., at Community Presbyterian Church, 1555 Poli Street, Ventura, CA. Reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Community Presbyterian Church in her name. are under the direction of the Ted Mayr , 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
