Obituary: Thomas (Tom) Morriss Cook of San Diego died at the age of 75 on 31st, 2014, after a 2 and half-year battle with mesothelioma. He was born on 2nd, 1939 in Tallahassee, Florida to Ernest Walter Cook and Iona Virginia Morriss (Cook). His younger siblings were Beth Ellen and Brian Cook. When Tom was a boy, he and his father moved to Pennsylvania; where he later attended the University of Pennsylvania. a year of college, Tom enlisted in the Navy and went off to save the world. Much of his time in the Navy involved working in intelligence and Tom experienced quite a bit of the world this way. He married young and had a daughter, Isabelle (Sabrina), and then later met the love of his life, Monika Sippel (Cook) whom he married and had Natalie, Christian, and Julia. Tom retired from the Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer (4) after 23 years and the family left Tokyo, Japan and moved to San Diego (where his mother and sister lived). Tom went to school full time, while working full time and driving about 150 miles a day. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and soon began his second career at Solar Turbines, a subsidiary of Caterpillar. Tom then received an MBA in International Business. All the while working and not missing a single Little League game or ballet recital. retiring from another full career at Solar, Tom and Monika traveled the world; going to many of their favorite spots, as well as many which were on their "To Do" list. Tom also enjoyed living a healthy lifestyle, working out at the gym, training their German Shepherds, reading, celebrating anniversaries with Monika, rooting for the Chargers, being a member of the Military Officer Association of America, and of course, spoiling his grandchildren. Tom, known for his intelligence, humor, and devil may care attitude, made many friends throughout his life and kept those friendships alive. He will be sorely missed by all, and most by his family who are truly devastated to lose such a great man. Tom is survived by his wife, Monika, and children, Sabrina (husband Etienne), Natalie, Christian (wife Kelly) and Julia, and grandchildren: Oriane, Theodore, Hector, Gavin, Emma, and Carson. As well as sister, Beth Ellen Clark and brother Brian Cook, nephews Matt and Mark Holstein, niece Melissa Rodriguez, and nephew John Clark, and a multitude of cousins. Plus, 2 dogs and 4 cats. There will be two services. Obituary: THERESA (Terry) ALCHERA COOK 6, 1924 - 6, 2015 At rest On Angels Wings in the hope to be with loved ones who have paved the way into the HEREAFTER as they did in the life of Theresa. Her beloved Mamma and Papa were northern Italian immigrants. There on the other side is her brother Aldo Andrew Alchera, her nephew Don Alchera, and also her beloved husband John M. Cook. It was life lived at the est of times in San Franciscos Marina district. graduating in 1942 from Galileo High School with a Block G for the acknowledgment of her athletic endeavors, it was then on to continuation of her education at San Francisco City . That was unfortunately interrupted with the outbreak of WWII. Young students went to war and professors also LEFT. Classes for career and goal-minded young women in subjects of retail, art, and business were no longer on the roster. The world changed and life took on another path. While working at the Emporium in downtown San Francisco as a Junior executive, love conquered all with her wedding in 1944 at New Yorks St. Patricks Cathedral to 1st Lieutenant John J. Muscardini (deceased). La Famiglia began with the joy to both families of the births of Joan Muscardini (Lovan) and Michael Muscardini. Michael is now the wine maker of the family as owner of Muscardini Cellars in Kenwood, Sonoma , and thus carrying on the tradition of Papa Alcheras St Helena Napa Wine Co. While raising her beautiful children, she had a career as a fashion coordinator at Joseph Magnins. Early in 1967, when San Francisco was the Mecca of the film industry, there was an opportunity for her to join the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA. This career was very fulfilling and included being on location in the Streets of San Francisco television series. There were countless films in between with the last film being 9 Months. Stunt driving in the movie Bullet was part of the thrill as were the memorable experiences of being on location in film, television series and commercials for over 25 years with world renowned stars. Retirement came about with her marriage to JOHN M. COOK. There started a life of happiness and travel. Lap swimming was a personal part of her life. With that passion, she not only taught her children to swim but to also give other children an opportunity to learn to swim in the local public pool as a San Bruno Parks and Recreation Commissioner. For sixteen years it was an honor to serve the community on this Commission. Now came for the time for her to serve as a political advocate by becoming a member of the Republican Women Federated in San Mateo, also in Sonoma, and then in Auburn, CA, which was her last and final home. With regards to the next generation her grandchildren are Mark Priolo, Bret Priolo, Giancarlo Muscardini and Marie Muscardini. Also step grandchildren, Kellen and Leea Crosgrove. The never ending circle of life is with great grandchildren, Bradley, Brandon, Khalil, Aya Mila, Siena, Rocco, Cali and Kellen Jr. And so to family and friends and dear son-in-law Allan Lovan Ciao! Obituary: TED MARION COOK JAN 20, 1932 - MAY 22, 2015 Theodore Marion Cook passed away on , May 22, 2015. He was 83. Ted was born on 20, 1932 during the depression, but did not cause it! He met his wife, Patricia A. Burke, in the seventh grade, when they were twelve years old in Sacramento. joining the Air Force in 1951, during the Korean War, he married Patty. spent three days of their honeymoon on a train going to Fort Benning, Georgia; his first duty station. He worked for the Finance office while in the United States Air Force. the Air Force, Patty worked as a secretary to put Ted through college, while at the same time, he sold knife pouches that his father invented for butchers, as well as repairing electric razors. Ted worked for the Internal Revenue Service, the Tax Exempt Bond Department of Bank of America and the Government Bond Department of the Federal Government. He received his AA degree from San Francisco City , his BA degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and attended Hasting of Law for one year. In 1959, He and Patty came to Modesto, where he became a Stock Broker and was very active in Real Estate. Theodore Marion Cook was a Senior Vice President and Financial Consultant in Modesto, California for fifty years with Morgan Stanley and its predecessors, as part of the Cook Group, consisting of his two sons Montgomery Cook and Randolph Cook along with Glenda Robles also, Financial Consultants. Ted was famous for his seminars on the Fundamentals of Investing. He had been a member of the Directors Council representing the top 2% of Financial Advisor; a number one producer of insurance and annuity products; member of the Million Dollar Insurance Council and the Mutual Fund Advisory Council, as well as the holder of the Fred Fredrickson Award, representing the most outstanding Financial Advisor in the Western Division. Ted retired in 2007 to concentrate on his cattle operation. Ted was a former President of the Stanislaus Taxpayers Association; Memorial Hospital, Board of Directors and Treasurer of the foundation for 16 years; past president of the Modesto Apartment; past President of the Valley Stock and Bond Club; former Treasurer of The Arc of the United States and the Red Cross Board of Directors; Director of the Modesto Downtown Improvement District; past President of the Stanislaus Navy League and the Modesto Shrine Club, past Commodore of the Stockton Yacht Club; past Commander of the Modesto Coast Guard Auxiliary and former member of the American Diabetes Association Board of Directors. A member of the Modesto Rotary Club, the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, the California and National cattlemens Association and the California Farm Bureau. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, a Republican and a Methodist. His father often said, Never talk about politics or religion, but be sure you tell them you are a Republican! He was a serious Capitalist. Ted was in the cattle business for many years; raising registered Angus Bulls and Boar Goats. Ted was married to Patty for sixty four years and saw most of the world while representing his firm. were avid tennis players and sailors in their younger years. Ted loved guns, but never shot animals. He made all their ranches game preserves. He was a great supporter of the Second Amendment. Ted is survived by his wife of 64 years Patty, son Montgomery and his wife Kathy, son Randolph and his wife Denise and son Terrance, 7 grandchildren Chloe Cook, Derrick Cook, Caitlyn Cook, Alanis Cook, Vincent Cook, Michael Cook, Leslie Cairns and her husband Brian and 2 great grandchildren Julia Hernandez and Landon Cairns.
