Obituary: Charles M. Austin, 73, passed away on 12, 2014. He was born in Jacksonville, FL and retired from the US Marines in 1979 after 20 years of dedicated service. Mr. Austin also had a career at Parker Hannifin and Smith Tool as a Milwright. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Austin: 2 sons: Melvin Kym (Trish) Austin and Terry Shane (Billie Jo) Austin; daughter, Melody Carole (Joseph) Slinn; 2 step-daughters: Debbie L. (Jess) Ransom and Donna L. (Darrell) Coleman; brother, Michael Lamar (Sandie) Austin; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Obituary: Burneece A. Austin, 96 of Bradenton, Florida passed peacefully on 14th at Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born 4, 1919 in McKeesport, PA., the third child of William and Cora Holland. In High School, Burneece was a drum majorette. She was taught to sew by her mother at an early age. Sewing became one of her life time passions. As a young adult, Burneece made her own clothes including her wedding suit. She graduated from McKeesport High in 1937 As a young woman she was Gene Kelleys professional dance partner until she met her husband to be, Eugene S. Austin, who she chose to marry rather than pursuing a career in dance. Married to Eugene Stanley Austin in McKeesport. PA on 28, 1942. She and Eugene loved to dance during the Big Band Era in Pennsylvania. During the outbreak of World War II she moved to Treasure Island, California to support the war efforts while her husband was serving in the Army overseas with the Merrills Marauders. When she received notice that her husband was coming home from the war, she returned to McKeesport to anxiously await his return. On 27, 1946 her first son Gene Austin was born, followed by her second son, T Dennis Austin, born 31, 1949. The family moved to Bradbury Heights, Maryland where her husband started work for the Federal Government at Andrews Air Force Base. Her last child born, Coral Lynn Austin was born on May 18, 1954. Burneece joined the Eastern Star Masonic Temple and was very active in many events including the Atlantic City parades. During this time the family moved to Camp Springs, Maryland in 1962. had many entertaining interests such as camping, dancing and their membership at the Masonic Lodge. Burneece worked at the Census Bureau, and later at Andrews Air Force Base Hospital where she got nicknamed Bea by the doctors. Burneeces husband, who she always called (My Darling), passed away 4, 1968 after a long illness leaving her with her three children. Her oldest son Gene was married to his wife Doris with their son Craig and her two minor children Dennis and Coral at home. She continued working at Andrews until she retired. She worked for her sons plumbing business helping with the phones and secretarial work. Burneece started her own small business teaching and selling ceramics. For enjoyment she loved square dancing and round dancing, her favorite partner was her grandson Craig. She walked five miles a day to maintain her cholesterol; even her grandchildren couldn keep up with her pace. She loved her coffee, ice cream, and Christmas. She was quite the shopper always at Memco for their big sales after midnight! Always looking for a bargain! At the age of 69 she took her fist plane ride to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. In 1995 she moved to Florida for the sunny days and warm weather. In just a few months she found her home in Bay Shore Gardens. She painted the house Pink! While she lived there she participated in many activities and events. Her last job was as Events Coordinator for the Bayshore Recreation . Burneece was preceded in death by her parents Cora and William Holland and her two sisters Thelma Dailey, Margaret Metzler and two, brothers William Holland and Russell Holland. She is survived by her three children, Gene C. Austin, T. Dennis Austin and Coral Lynn Bibb. Also survived by her daughter-in-laws Doris Austin and Jeannette Austin. Her five Grandchildren: Gene Craig Austin II and his wife Debbie Austin, Kevin Austin & wife Carmenza Austin; Dana Domanow; Dawn Bibb and husband Charles Knott; James Eugene Bibb and wife Stephanie. Eleven great grandchildren, Buddy Austin, Brittney Austin, Kevin Austin Jr., Alyssa Murphy, Brooke Domanow, Curtice Knott, Dalaynee Knott, Emily Bibb, Faith Wright, Gavin Bibb, and Jackie Bibb. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations to Tidewell Hospice at 5955 Rand Blvd Sarasota FL 34238 under the direction of Manasota Memorial Park and , Bradenton, FL. |
