Obituary: George " Cotton" Argabright George Argabright, 92, husband of the late Janice "Honey" Argabright passed away on 3, 2010, He passed away at the home of longtime family friend C.L."Chris" Davis peacefully while sleeping. Honey and Cotton moved to the Orlando area in 1970s and owned and operated several businesses in south Orlando until they retired and settled into a golf community in East Orange . Born 9, 1918, Cotton witnessed extraordinary changes in his life.. He was a veteran of WW 2 and served his country proudly. He drove a truck for years prior to relocating to Florida with Honey and stayed in contact with many of the drivers as long as he could. Living with Honey, his life was never boring or dull. She was always up to something and always managed to bring Cotton along for the ride. Cotton never met a stranger and would take you at face value until he had a reason to not believe in you as a person of credible character. He loved dining out with family and friends and liked it even better if you picked up the tab, and if there was a ball game on the television he couldn have been more pleased. His care was overseen by his sister-in-law Ophelia Martinak aka "Felix" and by Chris in his home in East Orange until he was moved Nov. 1 of this year to Chris and Tonys home to be able to continue the care he required Survived by a son, David Argabright of Dallas Texas,a daughter Sherry Stewart of Ohio and stepsons Herb Baird of Orlando FL and Chuck Baird of Atlanta GA as well as grandchildren,great grand children and nieces and nephews. Cotton is also survived by two sisters, Nina Engles of Ohio and Betty Perkins of Michigan. A special mention to two wonderful people that lived next door to Cotton at Fairways and they are Alyce White and Horace Huss. Alyce sat,talked,visited and cared for George as his health declined and Horace considered George his best friend.. always working on a project of some sort and as always just taking it "one day at a time". There wasn a day go by that they didn visit with each other and discuss the daily activities. Even at the end of his life, his bright blue eyes and embracing smile never waned. He never failed to tell you he loved you when you had to leave after a visit or when going to work and was glad to see you upon your return. his passing, and on a very personal note,the brilliance and brightness of his wonderful blue eyes and his glorious smile had transcended from his fragile little body to the beauty of the sky above. As the sun began to warm the most perfect of days I felt Cotton smiling as if to say I finally made it. A small memorial service is planned for the near future dates, time, and location to follow. With that in mind, I know each one of us that knew George has at least one story, so bring it with you and lets celebrate the life and time and ultimately the passing of a man named George. under the direction of y Hand Cox-Parker , Winter Park, FL. |
