Obituary: William Edward Honey Anderson Our beloved Honey (Ed) passed into the glory of the Lord on the morning of 29th 2017. Left behind to mourn his loss are the love of his life and his wife for 63 years, Voncile Anderson (Crawford); his devoted children, Danny Anderson (Mary) and Nancy Skenes (Matthew); grandchildren, Hailee White (Wesley), Lindsey Anderson (Clark), Melissa Skenes Bonfada (Rudimar Bonfada), Zach Skenes, and Ivan Skenes; great-grandchildren, Sophia Webb, Eliot White, Victoria Bonfada, and Dominic Bonfada; as well as many other family members and dear friends. Honey was born on 13th 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the last of nine children born to Albert Joseph Anderson and Fanny Ruth Anderson (Williams). By the age of 13, Honey had lost both of his parents and was raised by his brothers and sisters in the Tampa area and in Jacksonville. While finishing high school and living with his sister, he got to know the cute girl on the other side of the back yard fence. She would become his wife, the mother of his children, and the one with whom he would share a lifetime of adventures. Honey served in the Navy for two years after graduating from Andrew Jackson High School. He and Voncile married and had their first child, Danny. Their second child, Nancy, followed four years later. Honey trained to be a fireman in the Navy and put this skill to use in Jacksonville at station No. 2 and on the fireboats. During his downtime, he would work with his brothers in the masonry trade. He retired from the fire station and went on to become one of the leading commercial masonry contractors in Northeast Florida. While in his twenties, Honey joined the Shriners and served as a member of the Wrecking Crew with dedication until his death. While a member of the Shrine, he was invited to join the Royal Order of the Jesters. He and Voncile also joined the 39ers, a group of friends that met every month for years to celebrate friendship, family, and never aging beyond the age of 39. were also proud members of the Champagne Gators, Nutty Buddies, and Good Sam. Over the years, Honey and Voncile travelled the USA and the world with their various clubs and friends, but the times that gave them the deepest joy was spent with family. Honey loved being surrounded by his family, celebrating birthday and holidays, or just sitting on the back porch drinking a beer and sharing a laugh. Honeys faith was very important to him, and several years ago he became of member of The All Souls Anglican Church, where he devotedly attended as his health permitted. He enjoyed participating in the churchs ministry as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army during the holidays. Additionally, he was a faithful reader of the Word and when he passed he had his devotional with him. We, who know and love him, find peace that this loving, kind man is with the Lord and is no longer in pain.
