Obituary: GREENVILLE – Sarah Elizabeth Bowley passed peacefully and entered the gates of heaven on the evening of 24, 2015, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on 31, 1912, in Mortons Gap, Kentucky, to Robert and Nannie Elizabeth Woodward. She always told the story that she was so tiny she was carried around on a pillow and a teacup would fit on her tiny head. She had four brothers: Harlan, Amos, Jimmy, and Alfred; and three sisters: Vernell, Frances, and Maybelle. She married Charles Albert Bowley on 4, 1930, and together they were blessed with five daughters: Wada Winn (Henry), Alberta Robison (Charles Kay), Loyce Rice (Clarence, Jr.), Patsy Westerfield ( ), and Becky Courtney (Ron). Her parents, brothers and sisters, husband, and two of her daughters, Alberta and Loyce, preceded her in death. She loved to read her Bible daily, sing, watch Kentucky Wildcat basketball, and make quilts. She was always working on a quilt and would sew every morning. Many years she made 30 – 40 quilts that she gave to her daughters and grandchildren as Christmas gifts. She had 19 grandchildren, and was known lovingly as BoBo to many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. As a ministers wife, she and her husband Albert lived in Rosewood and western Kentucky, as well as Louisville, and Lindenhurst, Illinois, where he pastored churches. Her home was in Powderly with her daughter, Lois Rice, after Albert died in 1969. She then moved to Rosewood and lived with her daughter, Wada Winn. For the past eight years she attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Rosewood, but was a long time member of Mercer Baptist Church in Powderly, where she taught School and sang in the choir. services will be , 28, 2015, at 11:00AM at Tucker in Central City, with Rev.
