Obituary: Tyler C. Beck, of Owensboro, went to be with the lord on 14, 2014. Tyler was born on 24, 1991 in Hot Springs AR. to Kathryn Shillings Martin and Jon Beck. He was a graduate of Beacon Central High School and was of the Christian faith. Tyler was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hiking. Music and reading also played important roles in his life and enjoyed going to the library. Tyler is preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Stevens Shillings and his step grandfather James Ray Martin. Tyler is survived by his mother Kathryn (Tim) Martin of Owensboro; his father Jon Beck of St Louis MO.; brothers Garrett Martin, Justin Martin, and Preston White; sisters, Heather Martin and Hannah Martin; grandparents, Van and Nancy Beck, Bobby Shillings; step-grandmother, Gail Martin; girlfriend, Chelsea Summit, and a large loving extended family. A service will be held 6:00 pm 18, 2014 at Glenn and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service on . Obituary: Sanford Paul Beck, 85 of Benton went to be with the Lord on 23, 2015. He was a retired business man and minister and is survived by three children: David S. (Nancy DeBoe) Beck of Louisville, Tim L. Beck of Kuttawa and Paula (Rick) Martin of Benton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Beck was formerly employed by Air Products of Calvert City and was former President of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers Union. He was a member and former Chaplain of the Preston Lodge F&AM #281 in Louisville and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a Korean War veteran having attained the rank of First Sergeant. He was the first blue collar worker to testify before the Labor Committee of the United States House of Representatives. He testified about the dangers of Polyvinyl Chloride and its manufacturing process. He was an ordained minister by the Assembly of God and had been since the late 1960s. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Hunter and Melva Magdeline Totsy Jordan Beck of the New Bethel Community near Fredonia and a sister Vivian Melton of Calvert City. services will be held at 11:00 am , 26, 2015 at Dunns in Eddyville with Dr. Jerrell White and Chaplain Todd Hawkins officiating and burial will follow in New Bethel . Friends may call from 5 until 8 pm at Dunns. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the New Bethel Fund c/o Rodney White 1808 US Hwy 641 N. Obituary: Mary Gail Yarbrough Beck, 62, of Owensboro, died , 25, 2006 at Owensboro Medical System. Born in Aniston, Alabama, a daughter of Dr. Frank Yarbrough and the late Josephine Miller Yarbrough, Mrs. Beck was a graduate of Owensboro High School, attended Vanderbilt University, received a bachelors degree from Kentucky Wesleyan , and Masters Degrees from Western Kentucky University and Southern Indiana University. In 1990, Mrs. Beck was one of 35 people nationally, and the only Kentuckian to receive the Victory Award by the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C for having triumphed over mental illness. The award included a visit at the White House with then first lady Barbara Bush. Mrs. Beck had worked with mental health facilities and had been a member of the Green River Alliance for the Mentally Ill, an advocacy and support group. In addition to her father, survivors include her husband, Robert Beck; her sister, Barbara Posey of Vienna, VA; her brother, Frank L. Yarbrough, Jr. of Seattle; and her cousins, Cindy Davis Attard and Berkley Davis, Jr. Services, officiated by the Rev. Phillip Curran, are 11:30 a.m. at First Christian Church. Visitation will be at Glenn from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. and from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. . Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Mental Association of Kentucky, 120 Sears Avenue, Suite 213, Louisville, KY 40207-5072.
