Obituary: Xian, Yuzhi, 89, left us unexpectedly on 2, 2014. His wife, Lixin Peng, predeceased him. He is survived by his son, Dajin Peng, a professor at the University of South Florida, and two grandsons, Charles Peng, student of Emory University, and Robert Peng, student of University of Chicago. Although he is officially known by the last name of Xian, his real last name is actually Xianyu. But when he got his passport for the first time, the passport agency in China mistook his last name as “Xian” because the vast majority of Chinese last names have only single characters. Xianyu is a rare last name in China. The founder of this last name was Ji Zi, the uncle of the last king of Shang Dynasty in China (ending 1046 GC). Ji Zi is known as a saint in Chinese history and mentored the first king of the Zhou Dynasty. He also created the ancient Korean nation. Xianyu Zhi was a specialist in geography and worked as a research fellow in China before he retired in 1989. He was a co-author of a national textbook of geography in China. He has very broad interests and had extremely rich knowledge in geography, history and international affairs. His broad interests greatly influenced his son, a Princeton Ph.D. in public management and international affairs. He and his wife came to join his son in the United States in 1990. He became a US citizen in 2006. He was known for being kind-hearted and was always ready to help others. Obituary: Bounliou Xayachack was born on 6, 1944 and passed away peacefully on 9, 2014, surrounded by family at his home. Bounliou was born in southern Laos where he attended military school and served as Captain of the National Army before immigrating to the United States in 1986. He married his beautiful wife Keooudone in 1977 and together they have 2 children. He was a hardworking, caring and big-hearted man who devoted all of his time to his wife and kids. He was the owner and operator of his own business and took pride in its success. Bounliou enjoyed watching sports, especially NBA Basketball, spending time with his family and taking care of his dogs, Bella and Milo. Bounliou is survived by his wife, Keooudone Xayachack; daughter, Vatsana (Mike) Xayachack Begonia; son, John Khounprasa (Amy) Xayachack; grandson, Caleb Xayachack and many close family and friends. He will be missed dearly by all who came to know him and we will continue to share his memory.Viewing will be held on , 20th at 4-6pm and will be on , 21st at 1pm.
