Walton Beach, Michael (Suzanne) Kidder of Memphis, Tennessee, Catherine (Kevin) Riley of Titusville, Florida, Mary (Colye) Justman of Conyers, Georgia, Cyril (Cindy) Kidder of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Teresa (Steve) Bullock of McAlpin, Florida and Tom (Cindy) Kidder of Pensacola, Florida; his grandchildren Chris (Brooke) Kidder and Sidney Kidder of Niceville, Colin Kidder of Memphis, Tennessee, Amanda (Dave) Riley of San Francisco, California, Mary Riley of Brooklyn, New York, Bridget Riley of Beijing, China, Phillip (Marium) Justman and Tian Justman and Abigail Justman of Atlanta, Georgia, David Paul Kidder of Manhattan, New York, Lisa Marie of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Bradley Bullock of Alva, Oklahoma, Brian Bullock and Blair Bullock of McAlpin, Florida, Daniel Kidder and Colleen Kidder of Pensacola, Florida; and his great grandchildren Carley, Ramsey and Macey Kidder of Niceville, Florida and Sidney Shaw Kidder of Greenville, South Carolina. Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Kidder of Ft. Walton Beach and his sons Phillip Kidder of Ft. Walton Beach and James Kidder of Niceville. Paul Kidder was born on 4, 1920 in Erie Pennsylvania to parents Rush Paul Kidder and Annie Laurie Gee. He grew up working on his parents farm. Paul joined the Army Air Corps in 1940; he served in England during World War II and in Vietnam where he earned the Air Medal. He served in the Air Force for more than 30 years as an Electrical Engineer and Master Navigator. His last duty station was Eglin AFB; he has resided here since 1962. retirement from the service, Paul was a reporter for the Playground Daily News. He graduated from Caltech in Pasadena, California with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He earned a Masters degree from Ohio State University also in Electrical Engineering. Paul was a great family man and a loving father. He was married to the loves of his life, Margaret in Savannah, Georgia and, after her death, to Shirley in Ft. Walton. Paul and Margaret were blessed with 10 children. In 2011, at the age of 91, Paul married Shirley who made him smile. Paul was a convert to Catholicism; he was deeply involved in his Catholic faith, serving as lector and RCIA sponsor until he was in his 90s. He enjoyed tennis, sailing, photography, chess and meeting his friends at Hurlburts Soundside. His family and friends will always remember him as a man of integrity. Visitation with Rosary will be held , 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ft. Walton Beach. This will be followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary. Internment services will follow at Beal Memorial in Ft. Walton. Father John Licari will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pauls life. Donations in Paul Kidders name may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. Emerald Coast is handling arrangements. |

Obituary: KIDDER, Arthur D. Art, 96, of Bayonet Point, Florida and formerly of Gulfport, Florida, passed away Aug. 16, 2014. He was born in South Portland, Maine, one of seven brothers. Art moved to Florida in 1948 with his late wife, Cassie Kay from Gardner, Maine. He retired as a building contractor. In addition to his parents, siblings and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Baker. Survivors include his significant other, Shirley Shanholtz; a son, Arthur D. Kidder, Jr; a daughter, Elaine K. Outten; a brother, Sheldon Kidder; grandchildren, Arthur P. Lucky Wilson, Angela E. Outten, Amy Peterson, and Kristie Kidder; 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
