Obituary: Willie Mae Carter Willie Mae Carter, known as Billie to her family and friends and G. G. to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a loving and devoted Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She was born in Gans, Oklahoma on 24, 1917 and passed away on 16, 2011. She had seven brothers and sisters that she helped raise. Willie Mae married her late husband, William Harvey Carter in 1944 and moved from Oklahoma to Long Beach, California where they raised their two sons. Willie Mae retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. in 1970. She later moved to San Diego and was a resident of Fairwinds Retirement Community and a member of the United Methodist Church of Vista. Willie Mae was very active in Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron, thoroughly enjoyed square dancing and more recently became known for her competitive Bingo and Wii Bowling skills. She often showed her love to friends and family through quilting and crocheting gifts. Willie Mae is survived by her sister Lorece, her son Robert and his wife Sandee, her son Jerry and his wife Juda, and her five Grandchildren: Deborah Hunt, David Carter, Carrie Rickmond, Elizabeth Carter and William Carter III. She is also survived by her seven Great-Grandchildren: Dempsey and Clara Hunt, Emery and Eden Carter and Ben, Asher and Ayla Rickmond. The family held a private graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, California. In memory of Willie Mae, donations may be sent to the Tri-City Hospital Foundation, 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside, California 92056. Obituary: William "Bill" Carter 12, 1930 - 5, 2012 Bill was born Sept. 12,1930 in Stigler, Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl. His mother, father and 3 brothers migrated to Californiain the 1940s. In 1950 he married his life-long sweetheart, Eunice Carrol Guenther enjoying 62 years of Marriage and 6 children. Bill joined the Navy during the Korean Conflict in 1952. He worked as a Milkman for Waynes Dairy before owning two Mobil Gas Stations, but became well known as a Master Craftsman, highly respected for building hundreds of Custom s in Bakersfield. He loved his family, Corny Jokes and Ice Cream. No matter what he did, he did it with all his might and his whole heart. Bill was a man of strong faith, building two churches, Fruitvale Community Church and The Childrens Church for the kids in his neighborhood. He started Christian Services that provided food and supplies to Mission Organizations. In serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ he taught school, drove the church bus, spent endless summers at Christian Camps, sang in the choir, and wore out dozens of bibles that he read from everyday and all with great delight. Bill went to be with his Lord Feb 5th after a 10 year illness with Alzheimers. The Family would like to thank Hoffmans Hospice and numerous other family members and friends for their support. Bill is preceded in death by his brothers Curt and Jack, his son Russell and daughter Marian. He is survived by his wife Eunice, sons Kyle and wife Kim, Chase, Christian, his daughter Lori and husband Don, grandchildren Meredith, Megan, Morgan, Lauren, Madison and Casey, 6 great grandchildren and his brother Micky.
