Obituary: Flossie Lucile (Hinton) Camp was born to Lucy and Asa Hinton in Springfield, Ohio on 20, 1919. She went home to be with the Lord on 9, 2009, after a two year battle with cancer. She fought a valiant fight and showed us all what true heros are made of. On 10th,1938, Flossie married the great love of her life, Bud Camp. were married for 66 years and brought two much loved daughters into the world. In 1946, Bud and Flossie moved their little family from Ohio to California and settled in Tulare . Flossie worked for Tulare for 26 and a half years; the last position she held there was that of Assistant Treasurer/Tax Collector. She was always active in her daughters lives taking them to dance and sports practices and events. She was active in 4H leadership and a Life Member of the PTA. She and Bud were long time members of the First Baptist Church (Gateway Church). Flossie retired from Tulare , she and Bud traveled to and enjoyed every State, even celebrating their 65th Wedding anniversary in Hawaii. traveled through Europe and marveled at the sights in France and throughout the region. Together this Duo, applauded life by indulging themselves in several cruises and various adventures. Flossie was a member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club. She also worked tirelessly in The Retired Association and assisted other seniors as needs arose. My Grandma loved to read, especially about history and geneology. The one thing I will always remember about my Grandma, is how much she loved us and how much I will always love her. Greeting Flossie in Heaven was her beloved husband Bud, her daughter Sharon Tadlock, her Mother and Father, and her sister and brother. Those of us who are so much better for having had her in our lives are her daughter Rosalie A. Manuell, of Bakersfield. Her Grandchildren Barbara Manuell, of Bakersfield, Randall P. Manuell, of Bakersfield, John W. Harlan Jr, of Eureka, Miranda and Craig Terry, of Bakersfield, and Jeanne and Ben Scorcur of Morgan Hills, Great-Grandsons Christopher Harlan of Eureka and Justin Terry of Bakersfield. Not to mention, the tremendous number of nieces, nephews and friends who are all members of this incredible family. The family wishes to express our gratitude to Pastor Tom Gonzalez and Pastor Floyd Westbrook and all the members of the Gateway Church and Visalia Christian Ministries. We would also like to convey to Flossies friends and neighbors at the Sierra Village what a privilege and a blessing their friendship and love meant to her. Life is not measured by how may breaths we take, but by how many moments take our breath away..
