Obituary: Dr. David Henry Preston, Sr., 63, of Smackover, AR was received into Gods big old loving arms on , 8, 2015, at Medical of South Arkansas. Dr. David was born 7, 1952, in Smackover to Thomas Addison Sebe Preston and Ena Hatch Preston. He attended Andersonville Theological Seminary and was the pastor of Calion Baptist Church. He was fortunate to preach around the world and was active in the ministry for 42 years. Dr. David loved to hunt, the razorbacks and was the voice of the Buckaroos for 23 seasons. Preceding him in death are his father, Thomas Addison Sebe Preston; and his loving wife, Stacey Price Preston. Survivors include his mother, Ena Hatch Preston; sons, David Preston (Heather) of Smackover, Hutch Preston (Meghan) of Lowell, AR, Cliff Preston (Leslie) of Smackover; brothers, Tommy Preston (Carla) of Magnolia, Larry Preston (Lottie) of Smackover; sister, Linda Stinnett (Larry) of Camden; grandchildren, Timothy David and Sydney Michele Preston, Daxten Hutch and Dyar Thomas Preston, Kannyn Brooks and Murphy Clifton Preston, and twins on the way; a special son, Wayne Burton (Kristi) of Bossier City, LA; several nieces and nephews, Staceys dog & his constant companion, Scarlet. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. , 10, 2015, at Youngs. A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 p.m. , 12, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Smackover with Rev. Sonny Simpson, Rev. Dennis Whitmire, Rev.Glynn Tyson, and Dr. Sam Mings officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover under the direction of Youngs Directors. Obituary: Juanita Harper Presson left this life 17, 2014 after a long battle with dementia. Her friends and family knew her as Poodle. She was born in Whelen Springs, Arkansas, 20, 1927 to parents, Bryant and Sue Harper. Poodle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved children. She worked in the 2nd Baptist Church nursery in Hot Springs for thirteen years and the 1st Baptist Church of Sherwood nursery for over twenty years. She was actively involved in her children’s activities, serving as Den Mother when her son was in Cub Scouts and making untold amounts of cookies and cupcakes for various school functions. Their station wagon was always full of kids when the Sylvan Hills Bears played out of town. Poodle graduated from Gurdon High School and attended Henderson State University. She and Bill were long time members of 1st Baptist Church of Sherwood. Poodle was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Billy Michael Presson. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill Presson. were married on 31, 1948. She is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Presson Clark of Arkadelphia and Jan Presson Johnston of Heber Springs. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Presson, Matt Presson, Marshall Presson, Josh Johnston and Kevin Clark. Visitation will be held , 20, 2014 at Rest Hills and Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Rest Hills Chapel at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Arkansas Hospice, First Baptist Church of Sherwood, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
