Obituary: Edwin Francis Zumwalt May 6, 1929 - 22, 2016 and Patricia Delia (Gallagher) Zumwalt 28, 1932 - 25, 2016 This is a true love story. Ed and Pat have been together in life for the last 67 years and will now be together in the life after. were married in Grant New Mexico on 14, 1948 after meeting each other in Duncan Arizona. Ed was born in Duncan Arizona and Pat was born in Santa Rita New Mexico 15 miles east of Silver City. have 5 Children, 10 Grand Children, and 8 Great Grand Children with 3 of the 4 generations living here in Placerville, Ca. The Children and their spouses are Larry Edwin and Gail (Gaske) Zumwalt, Gary Lee Zumwalt (deceased), Pamela Jo and Mike (Cobb) Zumwalt, Dennis Kevin Zumwalt and Stephanie Darlene (Zumwalt) Vargas. Ed worked on horseback for 3 years with the US Forest Service and drove a logging truck for 6 years with the Phelps Dodge Mining Co in Duncan and Morenci, Az. He worked 30 years driving a cement mixer and retired from Concrete Service and Conmat Construction Companies in San Jose Ca. Pat worked for the Lucky 13 Television Store in San Jose and retired from Fairchild Semi-Conductor in Sunnyvale, Ca. left Duncan, Az and moved to San Jose in 1953. bought their 1st home in Campbell Ca. in 1959. Their children grew up and went to school in Campbell, Ca. until moving to Placerville in 1983. Upon their retirement, they bought a home off of Newtown Rd. here in El Dorado . Ed loved his CB radios, deer hunting, fishing and bottle digging but loved his wife more than anything else. Pat loved raising a family and an extended family. She loved attending her church at St. Patrick here in Placerville and would work serving food samples at Safeway and Costco for a way to keep busy. She also helped out as a teacher's aide in the local elementary schools. While they were in living in Greenlee Arizona as a very young couple, they loved going to the Apache Grove and dancing to the greats like Bob Wells and the Texas Playboys and became friends with of some very famous country and western stars. loved going Honky Tonking and dancing at the Grange Halls to local bands here in El Dorado . really liked watching the Dancing With The Stars TV show and are now dancing with the stars in heaven. Ed and Pat will truly be missed and their spirits will be kept alive by all of their friends and family. Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento St. Placerville, Ca. on 7th at 10:30am (530) 622-0373. There will be a cemetery service and reception immediately following. Obituary: a full life at age 100 years, 4 months and 11 days, Lottie closed her eyes after saying, "Thank you Lord" and was gone to Heaven. When she could no longer live alone, she came to her daughter Wilma's home, with help of Hospice, when discharged from hospital on 20. Lottie had been longing for Heaven since the loss of her only son, Bob Zumwalt, in 2013 at age of 70 years. She was widowed in 2004 when her husband of 67 years died. She is survivedby: daughters, Wilma (Larry) Pound of Ripon, and Marilyn Holth (Rhonda Fehlhafer) of Albany, Oregon, daughter-in-law, Angela Zumwalt of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and cousins in Nebraska and Colorado; relatives and friends in U.S. and Canada. Lottie's faith in our God and His Holy Word have guided her and been the source of her strength since accepting Him as a young bride in 1937. She was a "prayer warrior" for her family and always had an encouraging word and unconditional love to give. Lottie resided for the past 12 years in Ripon at Bethany Manor Apartments, and appreciated the love and care of the staff and recent caregivers there. She attended church services at Bethany on s, was a member of the Ripon Free Methodist Church and "The Hopeful Bunch" senior ladies Bible study group. In , she celebrated her 100th Birthday with a big party and now she is celebrating for eternity in Heaven! Her family and friends look forward to being reunited with her again! A Memorial service will be held to honor Lottie's life at the Ripon Free Methodist Church, 218 W. Main St. Ripon, CA. 95366 on , Oct. 30th at 1:00pm.
