Obituary: Known for her sunny disposition, radiant smile, and beautiful porcelain-like features, Carol Ann Smith Zaenglein, a vivacious and elegant wife, mother, and grandmother, died surrounded by family and friends on 19, after battling a rare form of brain cancer for over a year. She was born a third-generation Texan on May 21, 1946, at St. Pauls Hospital in Dallas, to Mary Elizabeth and George A. Smith Jr., who founded Smith Alarm Systems, one of Dallass oldest family-owned companies. Carol Ann attended Ursuline Academy and graduated from Our Lady of Good Council in 1964, later known as Bishop Dunne. She began her undergraduate studies at Maryville in St. Louis, Missouri, but transferred to SMU in Dallas, where she graduated with a degree in art history in 1968 and belonged to Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Carol Ann Smith married Jerry Kenchel of Dallas in 1968, and their son Josh was born in 1973. An interest in interior design then led Carol Ann to earn a degree from El Centro Community , after which she became a member of ASID. A love of travel and an interest in antiques led to numerous buying trips to France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Italy, to purchase art works and furniture on behalf of her clients, other interior designer friends, and Intercity Investments of Dallas, where she served as a staff designer. In 1987 Carol Ann married David Zaenglein, an entrepreneur from Shreveport, who operated a business in the Virgin Islands and later relocated to Dallas. Carol Ann befriended and was beloved by all, known for her kind gestures, generous hospitality, and endearing thoughtfulness. For years she helped deliver Meals on Wheels to those Dallasites less fortunate than her. She loved being a member of the Dallas Museum of Art League and participating in the Bluffview Book and Garden Clubs. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, she also enjoyed following the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers and supporting SMU athletics. Carol Ann was famous among her large family and countless friends for the annual party she hosted every Christmas Eve with inimitable grace, style, and charm. She was also well known for her love of animals, and she indulged her Black Labs and pets with a twinkle in her eye and a winning smile. A wonderful wife, loving mother, supportive sister, cheerful aunt, and devoted grandmother known as Coco, Carol Ann is survived by her husband, David; her son Josh and his wife Jennifer and daughters, Emma and Stella; older brothers George A. Smith III and his wife Karla and Jim H. Smith and Stephanie; younger sisters Sally Matarranz and her husband Antonio; Martha Stafford; Betty Kerlick; brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Joanne Mewbourne; and sister-in-law Helen Miner and her late husband James. A rosary will be held night at 7 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest, and a Catholic Mass to celebrate Carol Anns life will be held on , 25, at one oclock at Christ the King Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to making a donation in Carol Anns memory to the SPCA, Meals on Wheels, or the for Brain . |

He loved working cross word puzzles and word jumbles with his Dad. He always worked his puzzles in ink not pencil. John was animal lover. He loved his cats and caring for them. He always kept up with who was ill or passed away and made sure that he sent them a card expressing that he cared. John is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Fleet and his father, John Joseph Zadrapa. Obituary: John Joseph Zadrapa, 88, of Crosby went to be with the Lord on , 15, 2014. John was born in Crosby, Texas to Joseph John Zadrapa and Pauline Rehorek Zadrapa on 15, 1925. He was the next to the youngest of thirteen children and was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings. He is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Emma Dale Zadrapa of Crosby, and sister, Rosa Lee Franta of Baytown, Texas. He is also survived by his daughters, Vicki Adcock of Longview, Sherry Morton and husband Robert of Crosby, Christy Roeder and husband, Stephen of Dayton, son John Cecil Zadrapa of Crosby, grandchildren, Jonathan Roeder and wife Vanessa, Christopher Roeder, Abbey Moore and husband David, Casey Morton and wife Brandy, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. John grew up in Crosby and joined the U.S. Navy in 1942. He retired from Merichem Chemical with 32 years of service. John attended Vinelife Christian Fellowship in Huffman and was a member of the Crosby Historical Association and American Legion in Crosby. He was an avid nature lover with the exception of his ongoing war with squirrels. A visitation will be held on , 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Earthman in Baytown, Texas. The funeral service will be held on , 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman's with graveside service to follow at Sterling-White in Highlands. The pallbearers are Robert Morton, Casey Morton, David Moore, Stephen Roeder, Jonathan Roeder, and Christopher Roeder. Honorary pallbearers are members of the American Legion in Crosby. Obituary: Frederick Henry Zack, 64, a loving father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, passed away , 23, 2013, in Carrollton, Texas. Visitation and Rosary service: , 26, 2013 at 6pm at Ted Dickey West (Dallas, TX). mass: , 27, 2013 at 12pm at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church (Farmers Branch, TX). Fred was born May 24, 1948 in Columbus Nebraska. Several years later, he and his family moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Fred graduated from Creighton Preparatory School in 1966, and then graduated from Creighton Universitys business school in 1970. While attending Creighton, he was a member of Kappa Psi fraternity and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a switchman. graduating from Creighton, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he stayed for the remainder of his life. While working in Dallas, Fred became a force to be reckoned with in the banking community. As a member of the banking community, Fred made many lifelong friendships. Fred loved and thrived on the challenges that his work as a banker presented him and continued to work in banking for over 40 years. When not working, Fred enjoyed cooking, football, fishing, playing cards, politics, and laughing with friends and family. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Creighton basketball.
