Obituary: Stella M. Zubik, age 94 passed away 30, 2013 at Lake Park Comfort . Stella was born on May 18, 1919 in Everson, Pa, the fourth of five siblings. She moved to Toledo in 1965 to live with her brothers and served as their caregiver. Blessed with a green thumb, Stella took great pride in nurturing a variety of roses, tulips and other flowers in her yard. Physically strong and mentally tough, she continued into her 90s to handle household repairs and yard work with her characteristic spunk. She also enjoyed watching telecasts of the Detroit Tigers and Notre Dame football. A faithful parishioner at St Clement Church. She was grateful for the many kindnesses she received from parish volunteers who provided transportation. She also appreciated the help provided during recent years by her neighbors and especiall appreciated the decades-long friendship and support provided by the McGoverns. The family is thankful for the caring professionalism of the visiting nurses who helped, particularly Annette, the nurses and aids at Lake Park. Stella was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Paul and her sisters, Angelina and Frances (Skunda). She is survived by her nieces, Jeanne (Robert) Fraker, Janet (Charles) Krueger, Rita Skunda and Donna Skunda, her nephew, Thomas Skunda (Patricia Shea), and grandnepohew and two grandnieces, Michael, Stephanie and Julia Fraker. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on 4, at 10:00 am at St Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremaisville Rd. Visitation will be held in the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Obituary: Austintown- Services celebrating the life of John E. Zubal Jr. will be held at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 4500 Norquest Blvd. Austintown, Ohio. John known as Jack was born 6, 1945 in Youngstown the son of John E. and Catherine (Scanlon) Zubal Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. Jack graduated from Ursuline High School in 1962 and YSU in 1968 where he was a fraternity member of Theta Xi continued his brotherhood and friendships. He began a sales career spanning 40 years at Commercial Shearing, highlighted by sales of railroad spikes all over the country. He retired in 2005 from Pace Pontiac in Niles. retirement he worked as an associate and mail courier for Lane Family s until 2014. Jack was a member of Y.A.I.G. (Youngstown Area Intergroup), AA where he was proud of his Sobriety date of 4, 1994. He was an avid golfer and loved the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Beaumont Blue Streaks. He also enjoyed his visits to Intergroup, the barbershop and the Golden Dawn. He will be sadly missed by his wife Beth A. Bartlett, children; Danielle (Gary) Zubal Hilton, Chad (Theresa) Zubal, Sr. Erin E. Zubal (OSU), grandchildren; Raeghan, Connor, Alexa and his faithful canine companion Molly. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and Infant daughter Alicia. Family and friends may call from 4-7 pm at the Lane Family Austintown Chapel 5797 Mahoning Ave. Austintown. The Zubal family would like to thank, Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House Staff and team members and Austinwoods for the loving care given to Jack.
