Obituary: Zimmerman (Wilson), Helen Irene Went to be with her Lord and beloved daughter, Pam Harty (Zimmerman), on 4, 2017. She is survived by her devoted husband lifetime love and partner, Leon (Zim), sons David (Rhonda), Tom (Cathy), and son-in-law Kevin Harty. Known as Grams to Chris (Jennifer) Harty, Paul, Danny (Brittany), Matt (Dottie), Rachael Zimmerman, and AJ (David) Wolf. Great-Grams to Lola, Ruby, Riston Zimmerman, and Levi Wolf. Helen was the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Johnson) Wilson, born 28, 1928 in Reed City, Michigan. While working at Bonsalls Drug store, a returning WWII vet hurriedly asked her for change for the phone, she gave him a dime and thought, Im going to marry that guy. She and that guy were married just shy of 70 years. Helen attended General Motors Institute, attaining an associate degree and proficiency in comptometers. She used these skills to support her husbands U of M education and became Zims office manager. She was a charter member of the Sewing Club of Jackson, member of The First United Methodist Church of Jackson, and involved with many volunteer organizations including Love in the Name of Christ, Ella Sharp Park Museum, Diggers, and Jackson Meal Services, to name a few. She loved playing bridge with her girlfriends, traveling (especially to England), gardening, and spending time at their cabin on Good Harbor Bay. Always smiling and kind words for all, she was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren will always remember her warm disposition and for making sure there were always animal crackers in the tea set. Helen will be sadly missed and will live forever in our hearts. She was one of a kind; a beautiful woman in every way. The memorial service for Helen will be held , 1, 2017, at 3:00 pm in the Grande Room at Vista Grande Villa 2251 Springport Road, Jackson, MI 49202. Obituary: Zimmerman, Gregory Lee Of Albion passed away at the University Of Michigan Hospital , 8, 2014 at the age of 63. He was the son of Robert T. and Clara L. (Taber) Zimmerman born 12, 1950 in Jackson, Michigan. Greg is survived by his mother; three children, Gregory Zimmerman Jr., Amanda (Brad) Goldsmith, and Michael (Racquel) Zimmerman; four grandchildren, Sydney, Ethan, Sophia, and Brayden; two brothers and three sisters, Donald (Sharon) Zimmerman, Sally Hiatt, Louise (Jack) Bedrosian, Robert (Louise) Zimmerman Jr., and Pamela (Bradley) Gallentine; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Victoria Voges, Brenda (Pony) Histed, and Tim Wilson. Greg was preceded in death by his father. He was a wonderful part of the Nokomis Learning , and shared many stories with children and adults alike. He loved teaching children about Native Culture, or anyone that would listen. Greg is the featured artist in the Nokomis gallery. He shared and had given the center wonderful things over the years where he was an educator and advisor. No one can take his place… nor tell his stories. He found great comfort in his beadwork, visiting with his mother, and dancing at Pow Wows.
