Obituary: Tony Ziehler 6/20/1936-11/13/2014 It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved TZ (aka Moose). Tony lived a full life, enjoying: family & friends, almost daily Gin Rummy games, AZ Wildcats, relaxing in the White Mountains, traveling, serving his community and his lifelong career selling Life & Insurance. Tony was born in Anderson, IN to Joseph & Julie Ziehler. His early childhood was spent in Dayton, OH surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins. In 1946 his family moved to Tucson. put down roots in the Tucson Mountains where Tonys love of horses began. He often rode his horse, Kickie to school. The Ziehler family spent a year in Okinawa after which Tony returned to graduate from Salpointe H.S.Tony earned a Business Degree from The University of Arizona in 1958. He began his career selling life, health and group insurance. Soon after, Tony started his own independent agency. Ziehler Insurance has always been a family affair. His son Mike and daughters Sue & Kathy all worked along with him. Mike now runs the business. Tonys involvement with organizations in Tucson included: The Salvation Army, Tucson Conquistadors, Tucson Rotary Club, The Westerners, AZ Historical Society, and The Million Dollar Round Table. Tony is survived by his wife Barbara Wood Ziehler of 34 years; his daughters, Sue Brown (Kevin), Kathy Dwyer (Mike), Jane Bee (Brian), Patty Koty (Lloyd); son, Mike Ziehler (Lisa); stepsons, David Wood (Jan), Brent Wood (Traci); sister, Judy Richey; cousin, Bill Focke (Deanne); grandchildren, Tamara (Chris), Ben, JD (Lindsay), Kendra, Matthew, Melissa, Jessica, Blake, Tyler, Connor, Anya, Taylor, Carter, Trevor, Bryce, Madison, & Mitchell; great grandchildren, Emily, Trevor, Brayden & Grace; nephew, David Creedon (Mari); niece, Mimi Creedon (Steve). A Memorial Service for Tony will be held at East Lawn Mortuary on , 29 at 10:30, 5801 E Grant Rd (viewing starting at 10:00). Burial to follow. Tony loved large and deep. We will treasure our memories. Remembrances may be made in honor of Tony Ziehler to The Salvation Army or The Tucson Conquistadors. |

Obituary: Wayne Caryl Ziehe was born in Plainfield, Iowa in Breemer to Carl and Eva Ziehe. In , 1946 he married Marion Welter. Together they had four sons. He lived and worked in the area until he relocated his family to Renton, Washington in 1962. Wayne worked for Paccar in Renton and The Boeing until his retirement. He was passionate about cars and worked on many of his sons vehicles whenever the opportunity arose. He and Marion loved to bake and would spend many hours in the kitchen whipping up pies, cinnamon rolls and cookies. These goodies kept their many grandchildren coming back for more. Although Wayne never had time for sports when his sons were in school, he developed a keen interest in professional baseball in his later years. He would spend many hours each week, cheering on the Seattle Mariners and could recite all the player statistics to anyone within ears reach. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his wife of 65 years (Marion), daughter-in-law (Julie), and great-granddaughter (MaryAnn). He is survived by his four sons: David Ziehe, Dennis Ziehe, Don (Barbara) Ziehe and Richard (Shirley) Ziehe. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Waynes life will be held in Renton in May. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to Sage Hospice, 5111 N. Scottsdale Road. # 204, Scottsdale, AZ 85250. David, Dennis, Don and Richard join together to extend sincerely thanks to the staff at Orchard Pointe in Surprise, AZ for the excellent care given to Wayne for the last two and a half years. The entire family is grateful for your attendance upon Wayne and the support you provided. |
