Obituary: Susan Irene (Mickelson) Zemke, age 70 died , 24, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.Susie was born 22, 1951 the daughter of Martin Leonard and Doris Ledema (Hemminger) Mickelson. Her mom died when she was 3 and she was raised by her maternal grandma, Edna Mae Edsel. She was educated in the Sterling Schools.Susie married Kenneth Harold Zemke, Jr. on 24, 1971. She loved her Lord and she was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church.usie was a homemaker and she doted on her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved crafting, puzzles, cutting and styling hair and helping anyone with anything when she was needed. She is survived by her husband, Ken of 50 years; one son, John Wayne (Mary) Zemke of Rock Falls; one daughter, Lisa LeAnn (Jacob) Boyer of Rock Falls; one sister, Carole (Don) Cheshier of Rock Falls; one brother, Ronald (Rita) Mickelson both of Rock Falls; three grandchildren, Jakob (Alexis Bender) Zemke, John Tyler (Paige DeLaFuente) Zemke and Bruce Jade Boyer; four great grandchildren, Kole, Deakon, Wyatt and Johnna. Many loving nieces and nephews and friends. Also her fur babies Peaches and Missy. Susie loved and was loved by so many people. She will be greatly missed by all of us. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandma; sister, Sandy (Bill) Anspach; brother, Eugene in infancy. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM , 30, 2021 at the McDonald in Rock Falls. services will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. |
