Obituary: Sylvia R. Zimmerman, 78, of Jacksonville, passed away , 15, 2009. A native of Jacksonville, FL, Sylvia was born to Jacob & Rose Rothstein. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and close friend to many. Sylvia was a member of Hadassah, River Garden Auxiliary and the Jacksonville Jewish . She was an accomplished concert pianist as well as a beautiful person that was very loving and nurturing. Sylvia was a delight to all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Benjamin Zimmerman; daughter, Carol Lynn Rabb; son, Paul M. Zimmerman, M.D. (Rachel); sister, Harriett R. Behr (Max); grandchildren, Ashley Jessica Dender (Ryan), Angelina, Jacob & Gisselle Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Reed & Cade Dender, many other family, adoptive family and close friends. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM (today), 16, 2009 at Old (located off Winona Drive in Evergreen ) with Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner officiating. Obituary: S. Gail Zimmerman (Mimi), 70, passed away surrounded by her loving family on 30, 2017 following a long battle with Alzheimers disease. Raised in a Christian , Gail was a true believer and had a passion for her family and life. She was the Business Office Manager for a number of medical practices and an avid jazzerciser. She is followed in life by her loving sisters Dianne Edenfield and Susan (Brooks) Stone, her son Jamie (Amy) Zimmerman and four grandchildren, Corin, Abi Gail, Ashlynne and Andrew. She had three beloved nieces and nephews, Tres (Jessie) Edenfield, Callie Edenfield and Jenni Gail (Chad) Ginsburg. The family will receive friends at 10am on 5th in the Chapel at Riverside Memorial Park and . A celebration of Gails life will begin at 11am. Obituary: Shirley G. Zimmerman, after a long battle with cancer, passed on from this world at her home surrounded by her family on 25, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Dean O. Zimmerman and her parents Anna Gorgos Kendrot and Julius Gorgos of Binghamton, New York. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Alan (Tamara), of Manassas, Virginia; Lynn Ann Zimmerman-Bell of Manassas Park, Virginia; Barry John Zimmerman (Simone) of Hollywood, Florida and Curt Owen Zimmerman (Linda) of Manassas, Virginia; grandchildren Luke Zimmerman, Kirsten Zimmerman, Zachary Bell, Jacob Bell, and Jacqui Zimmerman all of Virginia; sisters Barbara Petras and Kathi Samulka and brother Richard Gorgos, two nephews, Cary Samulka and Timothy Gorgos and four nieces, Wendy Petras, Toby Fleshren, Anita Tomancik, and Nicole Samulka and beautiful friends. She graduated from Binghamton Central High School in Binghamton, New York and St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. A longtime member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida, she held the position of Director of Adult Spiritual Development at St. Joan of Arc before retiring and then also retiring from a position at St. Luke Parish in Coconut Creek as Director of Religious Education. She was active in Church activities, having been a past president of the St. Joan of Arc Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed past membership in the Boca Raton Garden Club and the Southern Handicraft Society and St. Joan of Arc Columbiettes and an enjoyable time as a docent at the International Cartoon Museum. A Mass will be offered at St. Joan of Arc in Boca Raton, Florida on , 28, 2016 at 9:30 am. Family will receive friends at their home following the Mass. |
