Obituary: Elaine May (Lillo) Yarish, 83, cherished mother of Lori Mellon, Steven (Kelly) Yarish, Gayle (Alan) Malik, and Bruce (Shannon) Yarish. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas S. Yarish. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicholas (Jessie), Lacey (Brian), Catherine, Elizabeth, Steven, Jeffrey, Matthew, Madison, and great grandson Landon (deceased) and great granddaughter Brinley. Elaine passed from this life on 18, 2011. The daughter of Nicholas W. and Della May Lillo, sister of Vincent, Elaine was born in Denver on 12, 1928. She graduated from North High School in 1945 and later began a career at Denvers Monarch Airlines, which eventually became Frontier Airlines. She worked two stints at Frontier, where she developed life-long friendships. Elaine took advantage of her love of flying, traveling to cities all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Western Europe, Poland, and Russia. She was accompanied at various times by her husband, children, and various friends. Elaine was an avid reader, sharing this past-time especially with her daughters. She also enjoyed movies, crocheting, bowling, and playing cards. She was also mom to any number of dogs, cats, rabbits, pigeons, ducks, hamsters, mice, even a few baby goats. Although she never really enjoyed cooking, she was an excellent cook, taught all her children, collected recipes, and hosted many family get together, holiday gatherings, and parties. Elaine especially treasured sharing time with her family and close friends. Her kindness, sense of humor, and empathy for others will be deeply missed. We love you, Mom. A visitation will be held on Sept. 22nd from 4-8 p.m. at The Moore Howard Chapel, 4345 West 46th Avenue, Denver. A celebration of life service, also at The Moore Howard Chapel, will take place on , Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m., followed by an open house in Elaines honor at 4 p.m. at the Maliks home, 11102 West Cooper Drive, Littleton. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to The Childrens Hospital of Denver in memory of Elaine. |

Obituary: Carol J. Yarberry, 79, passed away Dec. 16, 2014. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Ken Yarberry of the family home in Canon City, Colo.; children, Cindy Barrett of Berthoud, Colo. and Jeff (Michele) Yarberry of Loveland, Colo.; sister, Betty Jo Zabrusky of Canon City; grandchildren, Amie Berry, Jason DeHaven, Dillon DeHaven, Matthew Yarberry, Emily Yarberry; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was born to Harold and Verda Ward on Jan. 18, 1935, in Canon City. She was a teacher for Pueblo Dist. 60 for 31 years. Obituary: 94 years of great living, Kathryn Yarabeck of Centennial, died after a brief illness on 16th, 2017 at Golden Orchard Assisted Living facility. Kathryn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Martha Martineau and Harvey Orson Snow. She was the great granddaughter of Erastus Snow who came over with Brigham Young to found Salt Lake City. She had an older brother, John (Jack) Snow, who preceded her in death. Kathryn attended the University of Utah and served as President of the Tri Delta Sorority during her time there. She graduated and married Robert Yarabeck in 1950 and moved to Kansas City, enjoying the life as full-time mother to children John and Ann Yarabeck. The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1966, where Kathryn became an active volunteer in Girl Scouting, church activities, PTA, and was a founding member of the Hampden Heights Garden Club. She also pursued musical endeavors including Hand Bell Choir and singing in the Harmomics Choir for many years. She devoted much of her time to Womens Fellowship Group at church where she influenced the lives of many. Kathryn was an avid gardener and earned her Master Gardener certificate. She remained active into her 94th year continuing her love for flowers, music, family and friends. She will be remembered as being fiercely independent, creative, comforting, and willing to help. Kathryn is survived by her son, John Yarabeck, his wife Rachel and daughter Caroline, and daughter Ann Martin, her husband Greg Martin and son James Martin. Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob (Robert) Yarabeck who died in 1996. A celebration of life will take place at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary for close friends and family on 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. Donations can be made to Colorado for the Blind or Girl Scouts of Colorado. |
