Obituary: Blair William Younkin, of Arlington, passed away 4, 2016. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 30, 1944, to Blair M. and Mae P. Younkin. He graduated from Jonathan M. Wainwright, Tainan, Taiwan, and attended college at Austin Peay University. He was married to Sherry Kroupa on 10, 1978. Blair proudly served this country for 22 years as a radar technician for the United States Air Force including two tours of duty in Vietnam. ward he worked at General Dynamics, Lars Industries, McDonald Technologies, SFIM and Medtronic. He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the American Legion and the VFW. He had a passion for modeling scale airplanes, following the Pittsburgh sports teams and watching drag racing. He is survived by his wife, a son Adam and wife, and a daughter Toni. He has 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Benjamin and Bryan. He is preceded in death by a son, Derek. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., 13, 2016, at Moore in Arlington, TX followed by military honors at the DFW National at 12:30 p.m. |

Obituary: Ross Middlebrook Youngs was born in San Antonio, Texas, on 6, 1929, son of Arthur Byrd Youngs and Nell Cameron Crain Youngs. He died on 25, 2014 after a brief illness. He was the nephew of an uncle by the same name who played for New York Giants and was inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972. Ross graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1948 and from Baylor University in 1952 where he attended on a track scholarship. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Louise Caldwell from 1954 until her death in 1981. At the time of his death, he was married to Sue Pazdral Tanner who had been his faithful and loving wife since 1982. Ross was a Texas History teacher and coach for the majority of his career, having taught at Edgar Allen Poe Junior High, Alamo Heights Junior High, West Avenue Middle School, and Ed White Middle School. He worked at the Alamo Heights Swimming Pool for almost thirty years, first as a lifeguard, then a swimming instructor to hundreds of children, and finally as pool manager. He was active in his church life, serving as a deacon at Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church and an elder at Canyon Lake Presbyterian Church. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his parents and first wife, he is also predeceased by his sister, Nell Crain Northway. He is survived by his wife, Sue Youngs, and children: Dale and Mary Youngs (Easley, SC), Ellen and Joel Stolarksi (Bulverde, TX), Jeannette and Louis Droll (San Antonio), Betsy and Clint Gholson (Bulverde, TX), Patti Tanner and Gary Chavez (San Antonio), Jay and Stacy Tanner (Spring Branch, TX), and Bill and Terri Tanner (Houston, TX). He also leaves behind his beloved 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 7 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M, , 3, 2014, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. MEMORIAL SERVICE THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 2014 11:00 A.M. PORTER LORING NORTH 2102 NORTH LOOP 1604 EAST Rev. Dale Youngs will officiate. A private family interment will follow at Mission Burial South. Obituary: Robert (Bob) M. Youngs, Sr. passed away suddenly at home on 21, 2013 at age 83. He was born in Longview, Washington on 23, 1930, the third of six children born to Curtis and Ruth Youngs. While growing up, Bob and his family moved up and down the west coast, living in Washington, Oregon and California. While living in Aumsville, Oregon during his high school years, he met the love of his life, Rosalie Mack, and they married in 1950. Shortly after marrying, Bob was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War. returning to his family, he attended Oregon State University and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering, while also working as a cabinet-maker. Bob and Rose moved to Seattle where Bob spent the next 34 years at Seattle City Light, retiring as Chief Electrical Engineer. Together, Bob and Rose raised five children and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding Anniversary. could often be seen walking hand-in-hand; their love still had the spark of newlyweds. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, loved to spend time with his family and friends, and was a jack-of-all trades…if it was broken or in need of repair, he found a way to fix it. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, skiing, hiking, gardening, as well as traveling near and far. His family and friends reaped the benefits of his woodworking skills, with built-in cabinetry, desks, staircases, fireplaces and more. Bob helped guide years of youth serving as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 351. Bob was very involved with church activities and provided strong leadership to the Holy Family Knights of Columbus (PGK, FS). Bob also dedicated many hours to The Mountaineers Snoqualmie Lodge helping create a wonderful family get-away. In all of his endeavors, Bob benefitted from many lasting friendships that have endured throughout the years. Bob was a dedicated father, grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Rose, their children, Rob (Brenda), Rich (Lisa), Rex, Ross (Suzanne), and Ruth (Dennis Lew), and their grandchildren, Derek Youngs (Brittnee), Ashley Youngs, Kelli Youngs, Tony, Devin, and Cameron Lew, and their great-grandsons, Carter Youngs, Tyler Lew and Jordan Lew. A Rosary will be held on , 13th, at 7:00 p.m. and a Memorial Service will be held on , 14th at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following the Service. Both events will be at Holy Family Church, 9622 20th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98106. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Holy Family School Randy Terlicker Scholarship Fund. |
