Obituary: Walley Emmy Young was born 3, 1921 to Walter (Bubba) and Alfrieda (Granny) Schaefer. She passed on to her heavenly home 19, 2014 at the golden age of 93. She was educated in the Mission Valley and Weesatche schools, and was baptized and confirmed at Mission Valley Zion Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mamie Berger. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Kline; her sister, Ruth Chase; nephews and nieces: Jerry Berger (Carrie), Barbara Schmidt (John), Gail Hogan (Tommie), Patsy Harper (Kern), JR Chase (Linda), Peggy Lee (Steve) and 23 great and 30 great-great nephews and nieces. Visitation will be at Rosewood Chapels , 24, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 am. services will follow at 10:00 am with Pastor Andrew Schroer officiating. Interment will take place at Mission Valley . Pallbearers are Bradley Schmidt, John B. Schmidt, Colton Davidson, Mike Samford, Gary Berger and Joe Rouse. Honorary Pallbearer is Joshua Lee. Obituary: Virginia Rohrer Young, 100, passed away on , 6, 2016, in Houston, Texas, from complications after an automobile accident. Virginia was born on 12, 1916, in Houston, Texas, and was the only child of William H. and Florence Brooke Rohrer. She grew up in the Heights area of Houston and was a graduate of John H. Reagan High School and Texas Womens University in Denton, Texas. She served as President of the Red Coats while at Reagan High School and was recently named as one of the oldest living Red Coats. graduating, Virginia married her high school sweetheart, Reginald G. Young, a Reagan and Rice University graduate. remained happily married and sweethearts until his death in 1985. She was an HISD school teacher for forty plus years and after her retirement, Virginia continued as a substitute teacher until the age of 85. Virginia is survived by her 2 children, Virginia Ginny Rohrer Roberts, of Montgomery, TX, and William Arrell Young, of Spring, TX & his wife Annette; grandchildren, Karen Atkinson & spouse Doyle, David C. Obituary: Virginia Gayle Young 84, of Odessa passed away on 4, 2011 at Medical Hospital in Odessa. Daughter of the late Clifford D. and Mary R Ward, she was born 29, 1926 in Trumbell , Ohio. she was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. She graduated from Mt. Gilead High School and achieved a diploma in nursing from Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. She completed he Bachelor of Science at Ohio State University and a Masters in Education from Kent State University. Virginia is survived by three daughters, Gayle Jean Beaty of Lakewood, Colorado, Shirley Young and Patty Salinas of Odessa, grandchildren; Jason, Jeremy, Jarod, Stephany, Elmer, Sadie, Chistopher, Grace, Fernando Juan, Victoria and Coraena and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister; Anna Mary Cronenwett of Sebring, Florida and Myra Jo Beach of Morgantown, West Virginia. She was proceded in death by her husband Harold Raymond Young and her brother William S. Ward and 2 great grandchildren. Virginia was a nurse for many years as well as being Director fo the Mid-Ohio Practical Nurse Program. She moved to Texas from Ohio in of 1981. She enjoyed life and was very active with her family. Her favorite hobbies were reading, crocheting, bridge card games, baking cookies, candy and butterscotch pies. She was loved by her family and friends. She will be missed, but has a special place in heaven. She was a very caring woman and provided for her family all her life. A memorial service will be held on May 19, 2011 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, special arrangements will be made at a later time. Donation may be made to the American Cancer Society of the Trinity Methodist Church in her name. |

Obituary: Celebration of Life services for Vernell Young, 88, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. , 10, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven , with Rev. Don Kinder officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. , 9, 2015 at Resthaven . Vernell passed away , 07, 2015, in Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. She was born on 3, 1926 in Idalou, Texas. She married the love of her life, Doryal Young, 26, 1945 in Lubbock. She was employed by Plains Cotton Cooperative Association for more than 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doryal Young; brothers, Glenn Eubank and wife, Mary; Perry Eubank and wife Charline; and O.E. Eubank; sisters, Ila Cartwright and husband James; Beulah Vandiver, and husband Clarence; Geneva Burford and husband Parker; and Zelda Holt and husband Leroy. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon Prather and husband, Laurin of Lubbock and Nancy Gummelt of Lubbock; grandchildren, Justin Prather and wife Holly, and Elise and husband Dr. Kyle White; and great grandchildren, Jackson and Presley Prather and Kate and Emily White.
