Obituary: John Marvin Jack Yancey, 81, a life-long resident of Austin, died peacefully at St. Davids North Austin Medical on , 24, 2011. Jack was born on May 31, 1929, the youngest of 3 boys. He grew up in Hyde Park, graduated from Austin High School in 1948, attended The University of Texas at Austin and served in the U.S. Army; a veteran of the Korean War. His long career with Merrill Lynch began in 1948 as a Board Marker. a 2-year absence to serve his country, Jack returned to Merrill Lynch in 1952 holding various positions including operations manager and then for many years as a successful Financial Consultant. He retired in 1991. Jack grew up fishing, swimming, bowling and playing basketball. As a teen, he became interested in golf while caddying at Austin Country Club. He was an avid golfer, serving as President of The Austin Golf Association in 1963. His passions were Longhorn football and basketball. Family was very important to him. the death of his father in 1961, he assumed responsibility for the care of his beloved mother until her death in 1989. Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Charlene and loving daughter, Donna, both of Austin; brother, Marcus L. Yancey, Jr. (Alice) of Austin; brother-in-law, Wilburn Kirsch (Carol) of La Grange, TX; nephews, Bill Yancey (Terri), Chris Yancey, Marc Yancey (Elaine), Bruce Kirsch (Jeanie), Gary Kirsch (Denice); nieces, Carla Yancey, Deborah Hejl (Paul), Janis Forar (Larry), Tenley Todd (Clyde) and Laurie Blackmore. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus L. Yancey, Sr., mother, Alda Nord Yancey, father-in-law, Joe Kirsch, mother-in-law, Lydia Reising Kirsch, brother, Carl Yancey and sister-in-law, Gail Yancey. The past 9 years Jack battled lung cancer, COPD, a hip replacement and several bouts of pneumonia. His perseverance was an affirmation of his strength and fighting spirit. The family wishes to thank all of his Doctors, NAMC nurses, Austin-Travis EMS, AFD and Girling . A special thank you to the NAMC ICU nurses. You are truly special individuals. We are profoundly grateful to the late Dr. Thomas Riggs, whose surgical expertise gave us an additional 9 years. Obituary: Bobby G. Yancey was born 17, 1935 in Magnolia, TX and passed away 06, 2017 at the age of 81. He was born in Magnolia, Texas and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1954, and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1958. On May 26, 1957, he married Jo Ann Mock and they spent 60 wonderful years together. Bobby served as Justice of the Peace and Commissioner for Montgomery from 1960-1970 and at that time was the youngest Judge ever elected in the State of Texas. He opened Conroe Concrete (Yancey Ready Mix) in 1969 and is still running strong today. In 1990 he purchased and operated Hockley Livestock until 2000. The last 20 years of his life were spent doing what he really loved - ranching in Limestone, Falls and Houston Counties. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to almost everyone he met. Bobby was a give you the shirt off of his back kind of man. He never met a stranger and loved to make you laugh. All who knew him loved him and he will be missed dearly. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Lillie Bell Izard Yancey and by his brother, Jerry Yancey. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jo Ann Yancey; sons, Todd Yancey and Forrest Yancey; daughters, Stacey Yancey Happel and husband Brian and Lillie Kay Biggers and husband Billy; grandchildren, Tyler McCollum, Austen Biggers, Braden Biggers and wife Lauren, Michael McCollum, Parker McCollum, Taylor Callison and husband Matt, Katie Biggers, Camden Biggers and wife Victoria, Ryder Yancey and wife Brittany, Carter Yancey and Sarah Beth Yancey; great-grandchildren Briley Yancey, Turner Biggers, Henley and Hudson Callison and Griffin Biggers. Visitation will be at the Lone Star Cowboy Church , 10, 2017 from 5-8 pm. Memorial Service will be , 11, 2017 at the Lone Star Cowboy Church at 11 am with Pastor Randy Weaver. Pallbearers for the service will be: Tyler McCollum, Braden Biggers, Parker McCollum, Camden Biggers, Ryder Yancey, Carter Yancey and Austen Biggers. Honorary Pallbearers are Arthur Gant, Marvin Doyle, Randy Roan, Jonathan Thornberry, Docky Martin, Grady George, Greg Hudson, Fred Greer, Jim Gentry, Dixon Brown, Danny Childers and Charlie Harris.
