Obituary: Shirley Von Yoachum, 75, of Norman, Oklahoma, died 28, 2016. She was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma, 25, 1940, to Vetrus and the late Vernie Watson. Shirley graduated from Weatherford High School in 1959. In 1958, she married the late Loren Rex Bohn. lived for several years in Oklahoma City, before relocating to El Reno. In 1987, Shirley married the late George Yoachum and resided in Norman, Oklahoma. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Shirley was most recently a member of the Alemeda Church of Christ in Norman. A passionate reader, she was never without a book close at hand. She loved going to restaurants and eating out with her family. Before ill health prevented it, she enjoyed working in her garden. Shirley is survived by two children and their spouses: Loren Rex and Shelley Bohn, Jr. of El Reno; and Shani and Henri Thomas of Prevessin Moens, France. She is also survived by: her granddaughter Chyna Bohn of El Reno; her mother, Vetrus Watson of Belton, Texas; and her three siblings, Eva Jo Lafon, Lana Knopp, and Vernie Watson, Jr. The family would like to thank the staff of Valir Hospice and Cimarron for the care shown to Shirley in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. |
