Obituary: P. Brian Young, 81, passed away suddenly in the presence of family on , 26, 2015. He was born 15, 1934 in Toronto, Canada to Robert and Isabelle Young and became a proud US citizen in 2007. Brian worked in finance for the railroads in Canada and Detroit MI before he retired in Florida 1995. He moved from Venice, FL in 2014 to Raleigh, NC with his wife Virginia F. Young. He was an avid golfer and spectator of professional baseball, hockey and golf. Brian leaves behind his beloved wife of 7 years Virginia, his three children, Karen and husband Jim Samson, Laurie and husband Terry Cowon and a son David and his wife Alice Young all from Canada; three grandchildren Chris (Julie), Nicole (Caleb) and Trevor and two great grandchildren Brianna and Amelia and two brothers Bob and Bruce. He also leaves behind his step-daughters Margo and husband Cliff Bills of Apex, NC and Debby and her husband Joseph Rand of Cary NC, a step-granddaughter Janelle (Sam) Aguiar and step-great grandson Owen and step-grandson Andrew Bills. Obituary: Mrs. Opal Lee McKinney Young, 83, of Morganton went to her heavenly home on 29,2015 at Burke Hospice and Palliative , Valdese, after a period of declining health. Mrs. Young was born 14, 1931 in Mitchell , a daughter of the late Charles B. and Dora Lou Greene McKinney. She was a member of the Morganton First Church of God and retired from the Boxing Department of Alba-Waldensian, Inc. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Young; sisters Myrtle Woodie, Nell Hall, Lillian Davis, and Virgie Carpenter; and brothers Claude McKinney, and Frank McKinney. Surviving are her son, Denny Keith Young and wife Marie of Morganton, her daughter, Vicki Kincaid and husband Don of Valdese, and one sister, Lois Boone Also surviving are her grandchildren, Chris Kincaid, Sarah Loria, and Elizabeth Betsy Young, great-grandchildren, Chase Kincaid and Hunter Greene. Services for Opal Lee Young will be held at 12:00 P.M. 31, 2015 in the Chapel of Heritage Service, Valdese, with Rev. Jon McDivitt, Rev. Don Smith, and Denny Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 PM at Heritage Service, Valdese.
