Obituary: Stella Kirk Watkins Young, 91, of Owensboro, formerly of Evansville, died 8, 2006 at Owensboro Medical System. The Daviess Co. native was born 9, 1915 to the late Lycurgus and Dora Pagan Watkins. While living in Evansville she was a member of Bethany Christian Church and the owner and operator of Superior Improvement. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping, painting, and travelingshe did everything she ever wanted to do. Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband; Delbert W. Young; her sisters; Abby and Zetta, and her brother; Leo. Survivors include her daughter; Judy Counts of Owensboro, her granddaughters; Joyce McBride of Henderson and Misty Counts of Evansville, her step-grandson; D. Ray and Donna Counts of San Diego, CA, her great-granddaughter; Valleria Counts of San Diego, CA, her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stites Watkins of Owensboro, her nephews; Carl H. and Eupha Philpot of Philpot, Walter and Dot Howard of Warwich, MI, and Ken Watkins, her nieces; Nina and Mark Jones of Philpot, Doris and Roy Adams of Owensboro, and Margaret Watkins Mudd of Coxs Creek, KY, and also a number of great nieces and nephews. services will be at 2:30 p.m. on , 11, 2006 at Glenn with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church Youth Group.
