Obituary: Margaret Yolanda Yewell, 87, of Heritage Place Assisted Living, formerly of 222 East 21st Street, Owensboro, Kentucky, died , May 7, 2007, at Owensboro Medical System. Margaret Yolanda Berardo was born 1, 1920, in Owensboro to the late Nick and Eva Ray Berardo and was married to the late Edwin H. Yewell, May 31, 1956. She was a lifetime member of Buena Vista Baptist Church, a legal secretary and worked for 40 years as a secretary at Glenmore Distillery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Edwin H. Yewell, on 1, 1997. Mrs. Yewell is survived by her step-son, David L. Yewell and his wife Jean Eidson Yewell of Owensboro; a step-daughter, Phyllis Yewell Adams and her husband James J. Adams of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren, Jason L. Yewell and his wife Mary Kaye Yewell of St. Louis, MO, Emily Yewell Volin and her husband Curtis E. Volin of Marietta, GA, Martha Carole Adams and Jeffrey Yewell Adams, both of Virginia Beach, VA; and her great-grandchildren, Yewell E. Volin and Vera Elizabeth Volin of Marietta, GA. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Glenn Chapel. Visitation will be on from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood . Obituary: Jake Lee Yewell, 18, of Owensboro, was surrounded by family and friends as he went to be with the Lord from Owensboro Regional Hospital. Born in Owensboro on the 13th of , 1995, he graduated from Apollo High School and was pursuing a degree in criminal justice and law enforcement at Owensboro Community and Technical while working as a Point/Fry Trainer at Texas Road House. Jake played baseball as a child and loved fishing, motorcycles. Jake was known for his sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, he truly loved life and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Jake is survived by his mother, Pennie Gilmore (Kirk Bell); his father, Ray Yewell; his grandparents, Beverly and Louis Kruger and Fronie Damron; his brother Logan Kane Gilmore; his step-brother Ross Bell; his step-sister Katie Bell; and Katelyn Rusher, who was like a sister. The funeral service for Jake will be 2:00 p.m. at Glenn and Crematory, where visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Jake Yewell Memorial Fund in care of Pennie Gilmore. Memorial contributions envelopes are available at the funeral home.
