Obituary: Remembering Dons mother Miriam, father Samuel (both deceased) Don leaves behind wife Tina, brothers Richard (the youngest), and Barry (the middle child), son Robbie, and wife Evelyn, and granddaughter Claire and daughter Alanna and her husband Jake with grandchildren Zoe and Zack, and stepson Vincent. Growing up, Don and younger brother Barry grew up with Don as the protector being the older brother. In fact, when Dons younger brother Barry was in 1st or 2nd grade and Don was a big kid in 8th, Barry had a bike and one of his school mates, (Carl Misokopolis) bullied Barry, took his bike and ghost rode it into a wall, crashing the bike. Don (happily) went up to Carl and beat him up, protecting his little brother. Don was substantially bigger than Barry in their early childhood but Barry caught up as he hit 16/17. went through an adversarial phase (being the jock, Don was still ultimately victorious in most of these confrontations) but out of school, Barry and Don grew up to be the best of friends and loved each other deeply. Even though Barry made his life in Illinois, and Don moved out to California in the mid-sixties to chase the sun and the sand, they have continued to be extremely close and had a loving relationship to the end. As for Dons youngest brother Richard, Don loved him very much as well but they did have a nine year age difference and when Richard was 12, Don was already married at 21 and starting his life. Growing up, he went to Chicago public schools, most notably Rogers school on the north side of Chicago (Don was a Cubs fan) and then went to Senn high school. Don was a high school football offensive lineman- and lettered. In high school, he was in a club called the sportmen, it was quite the honor. During college, he self describes his college days as the precursor to Animal House as he was in a fraternity house constantly up to hijinks.. He got cpa at Roosevelt University and the law degree was at Kent. The movie animal house was about his fraternity actually Practiced family law (mostly in the entertainment industry which he loved) for 50 years, most notably a heavy contributor to CA palimony law, with the Supreme Court coining the term Palimony during his work with Marvin Mitchelson with the Marvin v Marvin case. He later represented Marlon Brandos maid, in her case against Marlon Brando , he helped celebrities such as Kurt Russell/Goldie Hawn, Mickey Rooney, Hedy Lamarr, and many others. Dons interest and thorough knowledge of the industry extended to his passion as a movie/music aficionado with an extensive library of both that he cultivated over the years. Don also loved old time radio shows and could often be found listening to shows such as The Great Gildersleeve, The Bickersons, Suspense, and many others. He loved to play them to anyone that would listen. He had the opportunity to join a radio show Outlaw Radio with Matt Alan whom he grew to love along with being his side kick on the show for many years .. The two had a bond and true friendship . Dons ex-wife Pam gave him his first child, Robbie. Second wife Millie gave him second child Alanna. Don helped to raise and nurture his widow Tinas only child, (and love of her life Vincent), helping Vincent to recognize and realize his talents for special effects/crafts in the entertainment industry, where he now enjoys an extremely talented/successful career alongside his girlfriend Sasha. Tina and Don were married for twenty five years and had a wonderful magical life together. Tina was Dads muse and supported him through both good times and bad. Her strength and grace kept Dad going when Dad had various health issues and carried him through. She was his rock. And he hers . There love will remain through eternity ........
