Obituary: Reverend Howard Williamson was born on 16, 1929, in Coward, SC. He was the son of Douglas Avon Williamson and Pearl Hall Williamson. He departed this life on 8, 2017. He was eighty-seven years young. Reverend Williamson completed grade school in the public schools in Coward, SC. serving in the United States Army, he attended South Carolina Trade School (Now Denmark Technical ), where he completed courses in Barbering and Auto Mechanics, respectively. He accepted God’s assignment to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and matriculated in the School of Religion at Morris , Sumter, South Carolina, thereby receiving the Bachelor of Theology Degree. Reverend Williamson served pastorates in both South and North Carolina, and is the Founder of Faith Baptist Church, on Stackley Street, in Florence, SC. Reverend Williamson served his community fully. For many years, he and his son “Vert” were barbers for the South Carolina Mental Facility in Florence. His barbershop on Dargan Street, has been a staple in the city of Florence. Reverend Williamson was also a member of West Temple #419. Reverend Williamson is preceded in death by his daughter, LaNola Glenera Williamson, and his son, Howard Evert “Vert” Williamson, and his beloved and faithful wife of fifty years, LaNola Johnson Williamson. Left to cherish his endless memories are: his daughter, Alicia (Rev. Richard) Williamson Garcia of Mobile, AL; two sons, Rev. Larry (Rev. Evangelene) Williamson Barnes of Sumter, SC; Alphonso Saunders (Yvonne) of Virginia Beach, VA; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Of his 13 siblings, we honor those left to cherish is memory: Isco Davis, Chandler Williamson, Sr, Roland Floyd Williamson, Pearline Burgess, Everlean McElveen, Dora Frances Moses, James Sylvester Williamson. |
