Obituary: Eleanor Howard Williamson, 91, died 8, four weeks before her 92nd birthday. She will leave an enormous void in the lives of those who love her; only child Shirley Curlee Bingham and son-in-law Ben of Hoover; two grandchildren, Beth McGary (Steven) of Vestavia, and Chris Bingham of 29 Palms, California; five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was the youngest child of John William and Bernice Howard of E. Tallasee, AL. Her four brothers were Jack, Hurshel, Bill, and Albert Howard; her two sisters were Eugenia McCullough and Mary Domino. A member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church since 1968, she volunteered in the church library for ten years when she retired from the federal government. Her 41 years of government services included Maxwell Air Force Base and the VA Hospital in Montgomery, and the Southeastern Program Service in Birmingham. Montgomery, AL was home for 25 years before moving to wood. During her 48 years in Birmingham, Eleanor enjoyed being a member of Birmingham Womens Business Club, Sundowners Garden Club, a square dancing group, Red Cross Volunteer, was a former Worthy Matron of Eastern Star chapter #384, and in more recent years enjoyed The Hilltoppers and Vestavia Womens Club. Her first loves were her family and the Lord. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on , 18. Her asked will be buried in Rose Hill in Tallassee, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to your favorite charity in her name, or to Dawson Baptist church marked for missions. |

Obituary: BROOKWOOD - Clara Arzell Williamson, age 85, of Brookwood, Ala., died 24, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical . Services will be 11 a.m. , 27, 2017, at Heritage Chapel with Rick Davis and Tony Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, 26, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and daughter. Survivors include her five children, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Clara Arzell Williamson graduated from Brookwood High School. As a military wife, Clara traveled the world and had six children. The family settled in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Clara faithfully served the Lord her entire life. For many years, she played the piano at many churches and groups through the state. Clara is survived by her five children, a large family and a host of friends who all loved her very much.
