Obituary: Leon Percy Preacher Williams, Sr. \ a 98 year-old native of Meridian, MS and longtime resident of Creola passed away , 6, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Pipefitters Union Local 119 for over 60 years. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Williams, and son, Leon Percy Williams, Jr. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Betty Williams; grandchildren, Keith Williams, Dennis O. Williams (Cathie), Susan Uptagraft (Mike), and Lori Taylor (Mark); great-grandchildren, Leanna Johnson (Jackery), Diana Goff, Daniel Williams, Sarah Georgieo (Milen), Andrew Taylor, Greg Uptagraft (Sally), and Brian Uptagraft (Julia); 12 great, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on , 10, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney in Saraland from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mission of Hope, 14970 Mission Rd., Mobile, AL 36608.
