Obituary: r L. Williamson, Sr. of Man, WV Long time Town of Man Businessman r L. Williamson, Sr., 92, of Man, went to be with the Lord on , 26, 2016, after a long illness. He was born on 13, 1924, in Logan , a son of the late Aley and Rebecca Perry Williamson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal M. Marcum Williamson; and son, r Lee. Mr. Williamson was a Christian and a Deacon at the First Baptist Church at South Man. r was a 1943 graduate of Man High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a decorated veteran, receiving a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and many other combat metals. r served under General George Patton who lead him into battle. He was with the troops at the Phine River after the Ardennes Offensive. Mr. Williamson served with the 83rd Infantry The Thunderbolt Division L. Co 330th, and fought in the Battle of Kassel. r was a devoted father and grandfather who loved all of his kids and grandkids which were his pride and joy. He was an avid golfer. A long time businessman in the Town of Man, r was the owner of Williamson Transfer and Storage, Atlas, Mayflower, and U-Haul for 62 years. One of his greatest passions was his work. His work ethic continued six days a week until he was 87 and suffered a stroke. He along with his sons, Doug and r Lee, enjoyed the many businesses they operated in the Town of Man. He was a long time member of the WV Truck Association, Aracoma Lodge #99 of Logan for over 50 years, the Boy Scouts of America Council for over 50 years, Shiners International, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion, and many other civic organizations. He will be deeply missed by his family, church, and community. Those left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are three children, Doug (Georgia) Williamson of Man, Jeanie (Oscar) Hill of Salem, VA, and Margie (Charles, Jr.) Toler of Cyclone; two grandsons, Doug (Amy) Williamson, II of Logan and Tony (Michelle) Toler of Cyclone; five granddaughters, Kristen Hatfield and Rebecca (John Gore) Paynter, both of Logan, Valerie (Michael) Robinson of Chapmanville, Ginger (Paul) Stepp of Salem, VA, and Rhonda Harless of Cyclone; 17 great-grandchildren, Garnett, Bentley, and Cali Williamson, Chase and Jenna Hatfield, Carly Paynter and Savannah Paynter, all of Logan, Cory (Billie) Robinson of Cleveland, TN, Cheyenne Robinson and Sarah Robinson, both of Chapmanville, Hannah Cecil and Redic Stepp, both of Salem, VA, Cameron Stepp and Laken Stepp, both of Granite Falls, NC, Michael Harless and Matthew Harless, both of Huntington, and Sydney Beth Toler of Cyclone; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to many caregivers, Logan Regional employees, and Dr. Harvey. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. , May 1, 2016, at the Mallory Church of God at Mallory where a Tribute of the Life of r L. Williamson, Sr. will be held at 3:00 P.M. with Bishop Shaun Walker, Rev. Johnny Hatfield, and Rev. Clyde Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby where military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts. Obituary: Lora “Susie” Lee Williamson, 66, of Alderson, WV went to be with the Lord on , 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving husband and children. She fought a courageous battle with cancer but passed from a sudden illness. Lora was a loving wife, mother and friend. Her loving husband, Kevin, survives her as well as her three children, James (Wendy) of St. Albans, Sylvia of Cross Lanes and Matthew (Faye) of Charleston. Her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, also survive her, Katelyn, Nathanael, Makenzie, Noah, Isaac and Colby. She also had one great-granddaughter whom she cherished, Izabella. Lora also leaves behind Butch (Ethel), Dickie, Doug, Benny (Dawn), May and Jackie as her beloved brothers and sisters. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved. Lora served in the United States Army until she was honorably discharged to have her first child. She was a homemaker most of her life where she was able to instill determination, will and independence to her children. Her parents, Eleanor and Freeman, both of St. Albans preceded Lora in death. There will be no funeral services (per her wishes) and there will be a small private graveside service. Obituary: John Henry Williamson, 75, of South Charleston, WV, passed away on May 21at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. John, son of Sylvester John Henry Williamson and Eva Scott Williamson, both deceased, was born in Charleston, WV on 3, 1941. A graduate of South Charleston High School and WV State , John was retired from FMC South Charleston and a member of the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees. He was also a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Charleston, Washington Masonic Lodge No. 58 in St. Albans, and Beni Kedem Shrine where he was a former president of the clown alley. John is preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law Jo Anne Whitten. He is survived by his wife Carla, son Nicholas Andrew (Kelli) of Charleston; grandchildren Mia Elizabeth Williamson and Ethan Nicholas Roberts of Charleston; sisters-in-law Pamela Myers of Charleston and Jody (Randy) Carr of Trinidad, TX; brother-in-law James L (Brenda) Whitten of Lavon, TX; nephew Michael (Amber) Myers of South Charleston; and father-in-law William M (Janet) Whitten of Hurricane. A service to honor the life of John will be held at 11:00 am, , May 26, 2017 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Charleston with Pastor Cindy Briggs-Biondi officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston with Masonic Rites. Family and friends may visit from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on , May 25, 2017 at Snodgrass in South Charleston.
