Obituary: Phyllis grew up in the Vancouver area of British Columbia. She had 9 brothers, 5 of which grew to adulthood. She did well in school but at age 16 quite school to work full time at Woodwards department store where she took phone orders for groceries. I think a highlight of Mom's youth was summers spent in a small resort town called White Rock. There her family built a house where she and her siblings enjoyed swimming, crabbing and clamming. To earn money for treats they went door to door selling their catch of the day and then would walk the railroad tracks into Blaine, Washington to purchase their treats. would then walk the tracks back to White Rock. Phyllis and girlfriends loved going camping in their early 20's, enjoying the dances near by and meeting young men. It was there she would meet her husband, Jim Wogan. Phyllis and Jim married 4/15/44. Together they had 2 children, Tom Wogan, born 1/6/47 and Linda Wogan Jerochim, born 8/17/49. Over the years, while raising her children Phyllis worked part time at Sears during the holiday season. Later she worked several years at OK Tire Store in the Ballard district of Seattle. She retired from the City of Seattle with 17 years of service. There she worked as Head of the Parks and Recreation payroll division. During her retirement years Phyllis enjoyed traveling, reading & gardening. In recent years Phyllis lived with her daughter in her home in Snoqualmie. There she continued to enjoy reading. Looking out her bedroom window enjoying the flowers and birds and the occasional deer that would wander by. Although she will be greatly missed I am truly happy that she is now in heaven with the Lord. Once again she can walk and talk and her heart and mind are at peace. She is surrounded by His love. |

Obituary: Mary Marie Woffenden, 92, of Selah, died , 12, 2015 at Willow Springs in Yakima. Mary was born in Onida, South Dakota. She enjoyed crocheting potholders, gardening, farming, custom hay cutting with her husband Bill, yard sales and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was an active member of the Selah Seventh-day Adventist church serving in many departments. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Heubach of Sedgewick, Kansas, Joyce (Russell) Woffenden of Penrose, CO, Clara (Dennis) Carr of Loveland, CO, Ramona (Guy) Watson of Yakima, Bill (Kathy) Woffenden and Jim Woffenden of Selah, WA; 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, two sisters, a brother, one daughter and three grandsons, The family would like to express their thanks for the prayers, support and encouragement in their time of mourning. Obituary: WOERNER, Robert L. Bob Woerner passed away peacefully on 20, 2010 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania at the age of 85. Bob was born on 31, 1925 in Rochester, New York to William and Loretta Woerner. He was the youngest of six children. He enrolled in the New York State of Forestry at Syracuse University, but entered the Army less than a year later in 1943. He was a member of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon of the 303rd Infantry, 97th Division. His unit participated in the battle of the Rhineland in 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in action in 1945; he was honorably discharged seven months later at Halloran General Hospital. Bob returned to Syracuse University and earned a BA in landscape architecture in 1949. He moved to Yakima, Washington, then to Spokane in 1950, where he met his future bride, Mary Jane Warn. were married May 12, 1952. Bob loved Spokane and was involved in many organizations supporting the community. He was a Mason and a Shriner, and also a long-time member of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Spokane, serving as Lieutenant Governor and President. Bob was a landscape architect for 50 years, working in both government and private practice. He was very active in his profession, joining the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in 1959. He served as the second president of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of ASLA. Bob was named a Fellow of ASLA in 1978 for his service to the profession and his excellence in works of landscape architecture, and was subsequently elected president of ASLA in 1979. He also served as president of the Council of Landscape Architectural Boards in 1978. Bob and Mary Jane enjoyed traveling around the world for both business and pleasure, and treasured the friendships they made along the way. For many years they vacationed in Hawaii. purchased a winter home in Sun City, Arizona in 1991. Mary Jane passed away on 14, 2003. Since 2006, Bob has resided in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his two daughters, Jane Fife (Bill) and Anne Rees (Randy); six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his four brothers and his sister. services will be at 10:00 am on , 30, 2010 at Hazen & Jaeger , 1306 N. Monroe St. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
